My husband and I organized a 2 night/3 day hike with Pueblos Mancomunados in early November. We have spent many years hiking in the mountains and deserts of the USA and found our experience in the Sierra Norte to be fascinating, friendly and educational. Our...More

We booked a one day hike from Latuvi to San Miguel Amatlán. The price was very reasonable considering what was involved - collection of the two of us on time from our hotel at 7am, 1.5 hour drive (note: steep sides and very bumpy!), a...More

I and four friends returned a few days ago from a fabulous four-night, five-day hike in the Pueblos Mancomunados. We started in Cuajimoloyas (did a 3-4 hour loop and then spent the night there, at nearly 11,000' altitude); the next day we walked about 14...More

This cooperative offers a great way to hike through the Sierras. It provides local guides, comedors at which to eat and great cottages for evenings. Local people and local materials are used throughout. Cannot say enough good about the whole set up.

I think that would be easiest from Benito Juarez. Try to bring a map or get some general directions, since trials are not always very well marked. Have fun!
