I went through this market trying to find the Mercado 20 Novembre and it was worth the detour. The food stalls are many and varied – from snack grubs and grasshoppers to Mexican snacks, there are many tequila and mescal sellers, juice bars, coffee shops, clothing and native weave sellers, trinkets galore as well as fresh fruit meat and fish.... We arrived early Sunday morning and encountered a large market of food vendors and small restaurants like a food court. Families were crowding the many restaurants. These were interspersed with shops in a series of theme groups. Sampled the pastries and bought gifts for the family. A fund and successful visit.

This is a place to go to find handicrafts and just take colorful pictures. You can sample the Mescal, or fried grasshoppers if you like. Easy to spend an afternoon there.

The Benito Juarez Market is excellent for browsing as well as for eating. The market is a bit more touristy than, say, the Abastos Market, but it is still authentic.

Nice market in the Centro tourist area. Easy to find and easy to spend a few hours looking around. Although some of the vendors cater to local needs, this is mainly a tourist market. If you have interest in seeing a local market, then head over to the asbastos market for a very different experience

There is a mistake here, Benito Juárez Market is not the food market; you should go to 20 de Noviembre market to have a nice meal and this market is for buying art crafts

A locals market, this is full of normal things you would not normally buy on vacation - clothes, school uniforms, kids backpacks and toys, etc. If you haven't been to a lot of other countries and just want to walk around to see how people shop when there isn't a wal-mart on every corner, this is a good place for... Great market just south of Zocalo, best to visit late morning as it leads into a delicious lunch at the neighboring food market. Plenty of artisanal souvenirs, baskets, clothing, mezcal and chocolates
