A must do ! Cheap tickets at row 17 will do

A must do when in Mexico. Lucha Libre. It is fun(ny) and very cheap. A nice large venue. Buy tickets at box office , NoT from the street. Snacks and beer are relatively priced.

Iconic

I was privileged enough to be in town and see a lucha show here. It was a dream come true. Everything was super easy and convenient. Only issue is inside, ushers only exist at the entrance, so finding seats is difficult and if they show you where your seats are you must pay them. It's really absurd. Otherwise its a great place to see lucha. Concession prices are fair.

I do not like the American version of wrestling at all. This on the other hand was a blast! The Lucha libre wrestlers are super entertaining and the atmosphere is all around fun. Don’t worry about taking a tour or buying your tickets ahead of time. Just go to the stadium about an hour before the show starts, buy your tickets at the ticket window then check out all the vendors selling merchandise outside the stadium. Lots of great deals to be found including some really cool shirts. We were about five rows away from the ring and near the aisle. The seats were great but being near the aisle the vendors can be annoying at times because they constantly walk around, usually in front of you selling their items. There’s dozens of vendors selling everything inside from Ramen noodles to big cheap beers. The shows are at least two hours long. After the show there’s still vendors outside selling stuff in case you didn’t buy before hand. It’s easy to get an Uber or taxi right outside the door but Uber‘s are a lot cheaper than the taxis. The area is very safe at night too so don’t worry. We had a great time and would highly recommend coming here for some fun entertainment.

Lucha Libre- great fun
Feb. 2020
We wanted to experience as many different activities as possible while in Mexico City so along with the more high brow cultural stuff, took in Lucha Libre. It was super fun. Great excuse to yell, boo, clap, cheer- the works. People watching as much fun as watching the wrestlers. You can get tickets the day of and don't need to go with a tour unless you want to. If you can get the tickets before the show it will be less crazy. We got them just before the show started and it is noisy, and the ticket boots are really dark so you can't see the agents or exactly where the seats are. Our seats weren't that great but we still had fun. Rows 4- 10 are probably the best, and not on the sides as the vendors will block your vision at times.

Super fun!

La Lucha Libre - what a blast! We took a group of 6, including a 4 year old and 6 year old, and everyone had so much fun! The two kids both called it the highlight of their trip to Mexico City. It has everything you could want: athletics, showmanship, and all sorts of drinks, snacks, and concessions roaming the aisles.

We did buy our tickets ahead of time from Ticketmaster Mexico because I wasn't sure what availability would be like. There was a will call window right in front of the arena (even labeled in English) where we just had to show the confirmation number, photo ID, and credit card used to purchase to pick them up. We did this about 10 min before the scheduled start time.

My advice after visiting though would be to not buy ahead of time. There were tons of empty seats available even after the start. Don't pay a tour group or Ticketmaster markup. Just show up in an Uber and buy your tickets right there. The line was simple to find even if you don't speak Spanish, and not very long; the will call line actually wasn't much shorter. After the show, the street directly in front of the arena is pretty hectic, so walk a block down to a cross street and call your Uber from there. The one mistake we did make: they don't allow large cameras, so we had to check ours at the door. Best to leave them at home. Cell phones and small cameras were fine. Our camera was easily retrieved from the checked items window after the show though, no big deal.

I would give six stars if I could

If you go to Mexico City you have to go here. You can go on your own or you can book a number of tours. We decided to go with one of the tours because you’re with a group and will have a lot of fun. Don’t by the Masks here they are twice as expensive as everywhere else. Get into the match’s cuss and scream root for your favorite guy I have a couple of beers and just enjoy. We would definitely do this again.

Don’t miss it. Skip the tours. Go on your own. Enjoy the crowd. Take joy in the absurdity and the noise and cursing. Great fun. Don’t worry if you don’t like wrestling. This is cirque du soliel meets wrestling meets slapstick. What a fun night out

Trip highlight
Feb. 2020
Lucha libre is such a fun experience- definitely one of the highlights of our trip. The lucha libre matches are held Tuesday and Friday nights. We were concerned about whether we needed to book through a tour group or buy tickets beforehand on Ticketmaster, but definitely no need to do this. We arrived at the arena about 45 minutes early and with our limited Spanish skills, were able to buy great seats with no issues. Spent about 225 pesos for great seats in the 4th row. The lucha libre wrestlers are hilarious and you find yourself picking favorites and cheering (or booing), and definitely laughing throughout the whole night. This is a must-do event while in Mexico City and so much fun!

Lucha Libre is great! Ticketmaster.... not so much!
Nov. 2019
Lucha Libre is a must-see in CDMX. I prefer Arena Naucalpan - it's smaller and older, but so much the better. The action is up close and the experience is undeniably in your face.

Buy your tickets through a tour company (there are several companies that specialize in tourist group visits - they lay on a bus and take care of the tickets: all the action, none of the hassle) or at the door (in my experience friendly helpful people who speak little English but will make it all work).

Avoid Ticketmaster at all costs. Terrible website, horrendous service, big service charges.

Childish fun, so glad we went
Jan. 2020
Oh man, what fun. If you get a chance go and watch the wrestling. It's like pantomime. Just don't take it seriously. Get into the spirit of the locals and cheer the "good guys" to beat the "bad guys". We didn't stop laughing all evening. There seems to be no rules and during our visits even had midgets; no political correctness here !
