A must for hard-core muralist fans

An easy trip via the MetroBus along Insurgentes (stop: Polyforum). A must for hard-core muralist fans (likely to be of minimal interest to those not into Siqueiros).

This is an absolute must for all the artists and art lovers visiting Mexico City. It is a jaw dropping experience to walk into the auditorium and find yourself surrounded by this huge, overpowering, amazing mural. Although I am familiar with Siqueiros' work this was a one of a kind experience. Don't hesitate, go visit this place but have the... More

When I asked a friend born and raised in Mexico City to name the sight we should not miss, without hesitation she named this one. She was right. It suffers a little from the lack of advertising, however this mural is dramatic and rich in color and message. The artist covered the inside of a half-dome structure with images of... More

This was the second time we had vister Polyforum Siquieros, and the second time we have been denied access during visitors hours while the museo was set aside for private use. After waiting an hour for access there were no museum guides or explanations available to visitors. The mural is stunning, but without assistance to understand the detailed history and... More

I was just blown away by the murals inside the Polyforum Siqueiros. I was fortunate to have a knowledgeable guide who could unpack the entire mural for me....a fascinating work of art.

The Polyforum Cultural Siquieros displays the largest mural in Latin America painted by and dedicated to Mexico's favorite muralist. Many NorteAmericanos think that Diego Rivera is Mexico's most famous muralist, however after seeing the Siquieros exhibit at the Polyforum, and being lectured to about Sr. Siquieros, I now know better. If you are attending an event at the Mexico City... More

This was my favorite artwork in Mexico City. Fortunately we had an amazing guide, Sergio from Journeys Beyond the Surface, who gave us detailed information about the building , the artist Siqueiros and his painting and sculpture. Even without knowing the fascinating history, one can appreciate the boldness of Siqueiros's work and his statement on humanity. I hope the private... More

I am sad to say I had never heard of David Alfaro Siqueiros until seeing this incredible structure. I think he should have gotten a lot more attention for his work than has been given him. I understand the concept for this particular building came to him while in prison...perhaps his politics is why he hasn't gotten the attention I... More

Powerful 3-dimensional oval mural (wall to ceiling) from one of the highlights of my second visit to this great cultural city. Take the Autobus along Insurgentes Sur(from Roma or Condesa-southbound direction(you will need a card to load money onto)

Well for this one, you must understand spanish. The show about the Mural is unique because is the voice of David Alfaro Siqueiros the one that explains the meaning of this creation. You will appreciated even if don't speak spanish or thru a translater or guide but to hear it from the author is a unique experience.
