This building is beautiful, a bit away from the city center but totally worth taking the detour. The architecture of the place, the huge book stock and all of the ambiance around this place is unique, a hides gem for who is looking to see...More

I walked to Biblioteca Vasconcelos from the Historic Downtown center. Once I arrived, I was free to walk around and browse the stories upon stories of books. I am an English speaker and the majority of the books are in Spanish. This is not a...More

This is the most unusual library I have seen in Mexico. It is very unusual by design and so spacious you feel like you are overwhelmed with area. The giant whale skeleton hanging in the central hall is amazing and very beautiful to see. I...More

Not literally, but kind of. This place is amazing! One of the most interesting architectures we've seen! It was the highlight of our day.

Looking like a set from a dystopian science fiction movie, Biblioteca Vasconcelos definitely won't be everyone's cup of tea. If you LOVE brutalist architecture then you'll probably want to see this fine example up close. If you're not a big fan of brutalism then you...More

This library is a must see! The whole library looks as it is floating. It was so much different than what I was used to back home. Would recommend a visit here just so you can go show your local librarian the photos.

Not really. There is a metro and metrobus stop right outside. Other options are the ubiqitous, dirt-cheap Mexico City taxis or just grab a Uber. It is not super close to Condesa but should not take too long.
