Gallery, posters and best Mexican designers and artists assembled.
Jan. 2019 • Couples
The premises are found on the former site of Hernan Cortes’s Palace has the most wonderful design shop full of products and objects made in Mexico by the highly talented pool of Mexican artists and designers. There’s a large gallery to peruse interesting exhibits and a perfectly placed coffee shop with the best double espresso, ever. on the walls i found the best posters from the past and present displaying the top designs. Superb place to be inspired.

Charming gallery and staff

The exhibition I visited was unique and lovely. It was a modern interpretation of nature using different types of media in sculpture. There was guide who showed me around and went out of his way to explain the exhibits in English. It was a refreshing change from the murals throughout the rest of the city. There is a coffee shop at the bottom.

A great stop to see, eat and shop
Oct. 2018 • Couples
This museum is a small venue near the heart of Mexico City. It has a great coffee shop/restaurant with nice dishes and excellent natural juices. The shop is full of curiosities and amusing stuff, both national and from abroad.

Great exhibit, tasty food,
Jul. 2018 • Couples
We visited while the Peanuts exhibition was on show, and despite there being no English tours scheduled at that time, Denisse very kindly explained all of the exhibit excellently. The exhibition itself is fun to see.

We also had breakfast there earlier that day, and got a very tasty and filling breakfast (waffles, eggs, ham, sausage, fruit, coffee) for about 140 MX.

The shop is also a great find, and is great for picking up presents for family or a few bits for yourself!

The museum is also full of posters from previous shows called “To Death with a Kiss” which are great to see!

Good place to relax
Jan. 2018 • Couples
So truth be told we did not get all the way into the museum area. There are guided tours every half hour, and we booked things too closely to take advantage of the tour. It was an effort to find a quiet space on the busy ped mall that took us into the museum of design, and there we discovered a lovely small restaurant serving tasty light meals and good coffee. We also browsed the book shop, which has sweet gifts and highly designed items for sale in addition to books about design.

Dinner in a restaurant at the museum
Feb. 2017 • Couples
Night in Mexico City. Staying at the Majestic Hotel, Francisco I. Madero St across the square from the Presidential Palace. Good location. There are many restaurants and fun places to eat and snack. I suggest you stroll down the street.
We are eating dinner at Mumedi (Museum Mexicano dei Diseno) restaurant and cafe. Unfortunately the museum is already closed. The waiter Jaziel Herrera spoke English. A great help. We shared the SalmonCon Regaliz with spinach, Tacos De Camaron Rebosado (shrimp, spicy sauce and flour tortilla), Mini Molletes (grilled muffin with cheese, like a mini pizza) and decaf cappuccino. All interesting and fun to eat.

Thank for your great review! MUMEDI is the right place for any visitor local or international, because you can taste delicious Mexican dishes at a good price, but also can eat international cuisine that sometimes on needs while traveling. Sorry you were no able to visit the museum, but we hope you come back soon! Greetings from all MUMEDI Team!

Excellent Food at Good Prices!
Feb. 2016 • Family
My family and I visited the cafe twice during our stay in Mexico city recently. The food was excellent, showing a bit of creative flair, and for incredibly good prices. I had the enchiladas suizas and the enfrijoladas. The cafe is clearly trendy and interesting, with lots of artwork (all of it depicting the conquering of death) hanging around you. Staff were super nice and the food came out quickly. Mumedi's location near the Zocalo makes it attractive for those who are visiting the historic center (and don't want to be taken in by the many "sixth floor restaurant" hawkers). Definitely worth a visit!

Lovely design museum, but small
Oct. 2015 • Solo
Small design museum located close to the Zocalo. The gift shop is nice and is probably equal in space to the museum, ha! Gift shop prices are pretty high, but it's well-designed stuff.

Exhibit was a poster contest on the theme "Death with a Smile." Lots of entries and many were wonderfully executed.

You must go with a guide for the museum and you can't take photos for most of the rooms. A must for graphic designers and artists, might be boring for others though.

Didn't eat at the cafe, but looked popular, trendy and very welcoming.

Great place to visit and eat
Oct. 2015 • Friends
We loved the displays, shop and food and visited a few times during our visit.

It is small but still worth a visit. The display of 'Dia De Los Muertos' posters were fabulous during our visit and the shop has lots of interesting little items.

The food was delicious and clearly freshly cooked to order. Stop for a meal of tea/coffee and cake.

The facility has a toilet but you have to ask for the key from the café as it is only for use for those using the venue.
