A friend of mine suggested I visit Tlalpan as I was avoiding the centre of Mexico City due to the pope's visit. I took a taxi to the main plaza and from the moment I stepped out of the taxi I was enthralled. You would...More

Tlalpan is a wonderful attraction to spend the afternoon, there are many to experience traditional Mexican foods and very good coffee. The park has a big play area, with loads to do for the kids to enjoy themselves. It is easy to visit and one...More

The centre of Tlalpan is a great jewel with some small restaurants, cafes, and street vendors bordering the main plaza. The old city hall (now the delegado office) is beautifully illuminated at night creating a wonderful backdrop for the occasional street performer. There is a...More

With the Metrobus, Tlalpan is now easy destination. Take the bus south on Insurgentes until the Fuentes Brotantes stop near the end of the line. Walk about 10 minutes to the east and you'll find the center of Tlalpan. It has been described as how...More

Tlalpan is a borough in Mexico City, south. There are many small restaurants in the area and it is hard to know which one is good, clean, and safe. I always want to go into the small places, the kind with metal tables and the...More

I think it's awesome how you can see so much variety in Mexico City. Tlalpan feels like it would be more at home in Guanajuato or Michoacán! It has a lovely small town feeling to it. The day we went they had a tianguis in...More

We went to the Bosque de Tlalpan with some visiting some family ... I had never been even after years in the DF. It was impressive and very well maintained park with impressive gardens and pine forest (where the name is derived). If you want...More

The old village of Tlalpan has conserved its charm over the years. The square is a lot less busy than Coyoacán or San Angel on a Saturday or Sunday, it is also much more compact, but still offering a selection of coffee shops, restaurants and...More

It's a nice place but the traffic is a drag. However, the bosques de tlalpan is an excellent spot to run or just walk.

Prety quiet village square in the south of the city. Was a separate village - now subsumed into Mexico City - an oasis with some good local restaurants

Time seems to have frozen in several areas that still
remain true to what Tlalpan once was, but the clock is
still ticking in the relaxed environment that makes it
the perfect neighborhood for friends, couples and
families who love to explore at their own pace. Plaza
de la Constitución is where everyone gathers on
weekends to listen to live music and where some of the
best coffee shops, restaurants and bookstores satisfy
