About

A treat for the eyes and soul

This is a small museum in the historic area of Mexico City. It is spectacular. It’s a great representation of the different crafts that are made by the artisans in the varying regions of the country. Mexico is blessed with such diversity in so many ways, and this museum reflected this abundance in its crafts.

Loved this museum!
Mar. 2021
We absolutely loved this museum and the amazing variety of items it showcases! So many different styles and mediums of artwork displayed here, a really nice cross-section of Mexican culture is presented. This would be a good museum for kids too, since it's not so big and the pinatas and giant, colorful paper-mache surreal figures are very appealing to all ages. I would absolutely go back again. This and the Anthropology Museum were my 2 favorites.

Beautiful museum, open during Covid

As many attractions are closed due to the pandemic, this is a good option for those willing to visit a quiet/clean/safe space with a beautiful exhibition on Mexican popular culture. Lots of items, from urns, dresses, collars and masks to contemporary art. Highly recommended (entrance is 60 Mexican pesos; cards not accepted). There is also a store. Some of the items may look pricey but if you look around you may find some high quality stuff, worth checking.

Cool Art Deco Museum

A treasure trove of Mexico's living folk art traditions. A great place to take the kids as they will love the color and craziness of it all.

The art here was so varied and interesting. Photos were taken just so I wouldn't forget a book to find later or information to research. It was very worthwhile.

Not very popular museum but super worth it
Feb. 2020
We hesitate on going as it not featured as one of the most important museums at Mexico City , but I am very glad we did as it was beautiful and we got to see true mexican art.

The bonus is their store, it has great original things for souvenirs.
