Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lined with rich foliage and an abundance of cafes and eateries, not to mention roaming mariachi bands, this plaza joins the ranks of the likes of La Paz and the Union as a must-see public plaza/park in the city. Just while awaiting an Uber, I spent the best time just watching the diverse variety of families, couples, solo folks, and backpackers going about their lives. I recommend this plaza!

What ever you do, don't go to this quiet neighborhood plaza, where locals enjoy good food and friends. By all means, stay in the plaza's of Centro, where competing mariachi's hustle you for money, restaurants are hit or miss and tourist abound.
Actually I love this plaza with it's laid back ambience and neighborhood vibes.

I like the feel of this plaza. It is very relaxed and the Club Cafe has very good coffee. The food in the restaurants is not great but it is worth it just to have a table in this wonderful square.

This is one of a number of pleasant malls with manicured trees and old historical buildings in Guanajuato. It was larger and more open than some and worth a visit.

Plaza de San Fernando is casual to Jardin de la Union's upscale. It's a great place to grab a table, eat some grub, share a few drinks, and people watch sitting under one of the many beautiful old trees in the plaza. It's not a particularly loud plaza, but it certainly isn't quiet either. There are often kids running around, enjoying the wide open, car free space. But, that's part of its charm.

A pleasant triangular plaza with several casual eateries with outdoor seating in the square. The busiest spot was Cerro de las Ranas (hill of the frogs) perhaps because it has 30-peso beer! A few nice trees. No cars in the square. Very pleasant. We stopped at La Oreja De Van Gogh (Van Gogh' Ear) for a beer. We will return - this is a five minute walk from our hotel!

If you're walking and discovering the enchanting town of Guanajuato you will be having a great time.
But eventually it'll be time to take a rest, the perfect place to do this is Plaza de San Fernando, just pick a nice terrace, sit down and enjoy the environment, you will be delighted with the trees, the people walking around, the street performers.
Just take your time, have a drink and enjoy...

It's not easy to find one's way to this plaza but there are enough interesting things in it and in the surrounding area to stop by. Not sure it's worth a special trip to find it, though.

Walked through a couple of times on a rainy Sunday trying to find my way around the maze that is Guanajuato. Calm space with lots of huge shade trees and plenty of space to roam around. Only draw back for me is all the people at each restaurant trying to get your attention by yelling at you, fanning a menu in your face, making nuisance of themselves to get you to eat at their restaurant. Once thing for sure is that I NEVER EAT at places that do that so I ended up no eating here, just visited and enjoyed plaza.
