This monument, which sits above the city atop a large hill, is dedicated to Pipila, an Indian miner who was killed after taking up arms against the Mexican government in an Indian revolt.

Brilliant views above the beautiful city of Guanajuato, and an impressive monument. I took the funicular up from behind Teatro Juarez and walked back down. Definitely a must-do in Guanujuato and worth an hour or so of your time (including time for photos!) if in...More

We visited here twice. Once at night as a tour bus stop. And again the next day on our own. By this time in your trip through Mexico you should be oblivious to the souvenir shops and people trying to sell you stuff so just...More

This is my favorite spot. It's best during twilight. To see how the city's lights begin to slowly twinkle under a dark blueish sky. Highly recommended.

This is a must see in Guanajuato, the view of the entire city. You can either ride the fenicular (25 pesos each way) or hike up the callejones. I (accidentally) did both. The callejones are pretty steep and I was breathing hard upon reaching the...More

Guanajuato is beautiful, and from here, you can get a post card view of the city. It wasn't really cold when we were up there, so the stay was nice. We actually had some fruit with Chile on our way down.
