After touring the beautiful Teatro Juarez this morning and listening to the symphony practice for awhile, we decided to buy tickets for this evening´s performance. We are very happy we did. We were surprised tickets were available, especially since they are only 100 pesos each. The concert was great, and the sound throughout the theater was phenomenal. Touring the theater... More

Check opening times for a start. Take the tour (only in Spanish). They say to pay more to take photos, but no one listens. Sit outside and watch the street performers. There is a fantastic silent clown. You are right near one of the main plazas so grab some food/drink.

The work that has gone into this building is amazing to say the least . My husband and I have walking g around here for past couple days and every corner you go around there's another beautiful building such as this. It is located directly in the Centro and well worth a trip to see.

The construction was started in 1872 based upon designed by architect Jose Noriega. The theatre follows the neoclassical stylings of eclecticism which was very popular within Mexico at the end of the 19th century. The theatre was inaugurated on 27 October 1903 by President Porfirio Diaz but the heyday was a few years later between 1907 until 1910. Since 1972... More

This theatre is one of Guanajuato's most classically beautiful landmarks, wonderfully preserved despite being over 100 years old, built between 1873 and 1903. The entrance fee to tour the building is not more than a couple dollars, and it's lovely to step foot inside the theatre to see the stately interior architecture. Our only lament was that there were no... More

This is a beautiful theatre and worth the 35 pesos entrance fee but access is restricted. You can access the seats by the aisle in the stalls, one section of the side seats in the stalls but neither of the circles or the balcony. Even the bar area is off bounds! Hardip

We waited until 10AM opening time and paid 35 pesos each to enter. Photos are allowed but no flash. On days where there are events or shows scheduled the theatre may not be open for casual viewing. The entire theater has beautiful design, decoration and ornamentation. There are decorative elements which seem to be classical Greek and others appear almost... More

A surprisingly European inspired theater in Guanajuato. The theater is well preserved and can be visited without going to a performance for a nominal fee.

No performances happening while I was in town but there was some displays for day of the dead outside which was nice. The architecture is nice and is right across from the main Jardin so you will see it at some point during your stay without going out of your way.

My wife and I went to several performances in the Teatro Juarez during Cervantino. We sat in several different areas of the theater and the acoustics were excellent in all the seats. It is hard not to stare around at the interior of the theater, that presents new details with every look. Awe inspiring to be inside looking around.
