We enjoyed our time at this cantina. We stopped for a bit during our GDL bike tour with our guide. The beer is cheap and cold and the ambiance is even better- lots of people singing and having a good time with their friends and...More

To me, this is everything a cantina should be. Relatively, cheap, but good tequila (you're in Jalisco ... my favorite is 7 Leguas Blanco). A little stage with a piano that is frequented by those in the mood to put on a show. Laughter, friendship...More

What a great local place to go and have drinks among the locals. From what our waiter told us it will be 100 years in 2021. The service was excellent and the piano man was great. We even had some of the food there and...More

GUADALAJARA... CANTINA 'LA FUENTE'... The legend goes that in 1957 a drunk staggered in, was unable to pay his bill, left his bicycle as collateral and never returned. The bicycle is above the bar, still waiting to be claimed. Meanwhile, 'La Fuente' continues to be...More

My favorite place to visit in Guadalajara. I speak no Spanish but they treated me great. Even made me an honorary bartender. I came back after four years (too long!) and they remembered me.

It is an old pub in downtown Guadalajara, seems like a traditional place but there's nothing. They sell beer and liquor. No food sold inside. It's quite big and smells like toilet all the time. Not much light inside. They let homeless get inside begging...More

La Fuente is just one of those places you need to visit to check off your list of one-of-a-kind locales. This bar hosted the young and old, wealthy and poor, and locals and tourists. The crowd breaks into song at any given time. Its hot,...More

Over the years, the "Cantina" concept was snatched and turned into a more posh and sophisticated deal (sadly), however this place remains authentic and offers the real deal. Loud and informal, joyful and with no hip/hipster aspirations. Great Tortas ahogadas with Tacos dorados (local dish),...More

You want a local bar scene? This is the place. Not sure if this happens every night but the night we were there people took turns at the piano and other people traded off singing. Probably one of my best nights ever in a bar...More
