Came here to see the Shaft-Tomb exhibit and artifacts from the Region. Was impressed by the quality of exhibits and range of archilogical artifiacts. The colonial and indiginous items are a must to see.

We went on a Sunday and admission, normally 60 pesos was free. A main attraction mentioned in many places is the huge fossil skeleton of a mammoth, amongst other fossil remains, and a decent explanation (all in Espanol) of the creatures that once roamed Jalisco....More

This small museum in the centre of Guadalajara has an interesting collection of regional archaeological finds including (to me the highlight) a full mastodon skeleton.

What I liked the most about this museum was the architecture of the building. It is colonial and it is very well kept. Don´t miss the fruit trees inside the museum, the arches and the atmosphere itself.

The big draw at the Guadalajara Regional Museum is the skeleton of a mammoth. The accompanying explanation of the mega-fauna that coexisted with this beast was informative. Having visited a lot of natural history museums around the world, we found the modest but high-quality collection...More

The building is beautiful and the museum is free. Okay, now for the rest. Most of the rooms were closed and there is very little to see. If you are downtown, check it out, and don’t make a special trip.

Well, maybe we just came on a bad day, but when I purchased our tickets just after noon they started closing the exhibits shortly after we entered! You would think the ticket people would at least let us know in advance that they were closing...More

My husband went in while I watched the dog in the lovely park across the street. It's a beautiful building among plazas and other public sites. He noted that we've seen similar museums in La Paz, Guanajuato, Mazatlan etc. Worth the stop. Nicer if we'd...More

We wanted to get out of the sun so visited this museum. It needs some work as many items not labeled and very little in English. There were only a few sections open when we visited. It is sad to see the lack of funds...More
