Busy shopping plaza packed with locals and tourists. Exciting, fun, noisy. Enjoy a walk along the plaza before or after your visit to the Instituto Cultural Cabanas.

Wonderful plaza with beautiful people all around us. No one bothered us and just let us be and take photos.

We took a walk from the Cathedral to the Museum Cabanas to see the Orozco frescos. The walk down this plaza is so invigorating. Lots of water fountains and public art. The area has lots of booths and pop-up stands selling Mexican crafts. Find a public bench and sit awhile and do some great people watching!

The plaza is filled with work by a Mexican Sculptor. Mostly fanciful a wizard transforming into a sofa with his feet as the legs. But the best part of the sculpture i that people sit on it climb on it and take pictures of themselves and their friends. The plaza has stores and at times vendors an musicians and painters... More

This was the highlight of the last day at Guadalajara before heading home. This was a big open area that connected a lot of popular tourist attractions. The weather was great, there was plenty to see, and there were street merchants selling a wide variety of clothing, jewelry, and paintings/drawings. The is a MUST if you come to Guadalajara and... Plaza tapatía is a very interesting place to visit because of the sculptures you can sit on. It has no people during mornings which would be the best to take some pictures.

This is a walking zone that goes from the Guadalajara Cathedral to the Hospicio Cabañas Museum. You must definitely spend at least half a day visiting all the buildings in the plaza: the Cathedral, the Government Palace (Palacio de Gobierno), the Degollado Theater (Teatro Degollado) and Hospicio Cabañas.
