This is the place for me as I use herbal remedies and love to explore the natural medicines used worldwide. The garden area was very interesting and had a very quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The museum has displays of different herbs and some old photos as well as herbs used as art. I would love to visit this area again... More

While the Spanish name literally means "the little house" this name is idiomatic for "the mistress's house." Emperor Maximiliano built this for La India Bonita, daughter of his gardener at the Jardin Borda downtown. The original house is now a museum of traditional medicine; it used to include peyote, but I think someone stole it. The swimming pool has fish... More

We went with friends and spent a few hours wandering around, looking at the variety of plants and just enjoying the huge grounds. There were so many plants to admire and some ideas to try in our gardens when we get home. We were almost the only people there - not sure why - maybe off season or the time... More

This garden was recommended to us by the policeman who told us that the Borda Garden was closed for construction. It was peaceful and had some interesting plants. I suppose for Cuernavaca it is a pretty good arboretum. On the grounds is the small house that Maximillian built for his lover, the Indio Bonita. the house has been turned into... More

This is a a botanical bonus for those interested in alternative healing practices based on traditional herbal/plant uses practiced by ancient and modern-day Mexicans. The gardens are extensive, the museum is informative and the setting is the former house of Emperor Maxmilian of Hapsburg's mistress, La India Bonita.

I actually live near by, like 3 blocks from home. We had a botanist to come over so he could explain us what type of tree we have in the front yard. Anyway, The Jardin Botanico is a small place that gathers as many species of trees, plants and stuff like that that I am actually grateful for it. An... More

The museum was beautiful. We enjoyed strolling through it and learning as much as possible. This allowed us to enjoy our stay in Cuernavaca even more.

The gardens here were originally started with native plants from the state of Morelos. As I recall, the medicinal plant section was one of the first. Each plant has a plaque that gives the name, the scientific name and how it is used. The orchid section is also impressive. If you are lucky you will see one of the botanists... More

I grew up next to this place as a child. I've been inside many times for many different reasons and with different people, However it is always a peaceful place full of beautiful plants, herbs and flowers. You can sit on the grass and read a book, enjoy some yoga, get wet with the water sprinkles, do some bird watching,... More

If you are interested in herbs and gardening plus holistic medicine this is the place to visit. It's a fifteen minute cab ride from the center and is located in the Casa Olvido, a former residence for Emperor Maximilian. Don't get grandiose ideas about the venue -- it's very humble. The on site museum has some excellent exhibits emphasizing natural... More
