Fulfilling a long-time promise to myself, I enrolled in SLI for 3 weeks in February. The experience exceeded my expectations. My teachers were proficient, patient, and funny. I learned that 6 hours is a LOT of study even in immersion Spanish, and the first week was brutal, but when I got over that, I was sailing! I learned so much!!... More

One of my goals for years was to study Spanish in Mexico. I retired from teaching in June. I attended ASLI from January 30 to February 9. It is such a well run school: the directors, the teachers, the support staff are all top notch. I stayed with a family for the first week, and then my husband joined me... More

I was a student for 2 weeks at this school -- exactly 3 years ago in 2014. I had terrific time. My home stay was next door to the school. The room was comfortable, the food (breakfast and the comida) was excellent. This is not surprising. Home-cooked food in Mexico is often better than restaurant food. The coursework moved quickly... November 2015: I had been trying to decide where to go and what to do for the holidays (Christmas + New Year's). I wanted warm weather, be with my better looking half, J , plus have a unique experience together. Well, my best vacations during my single days were spent in Cuernavaca (2 decades ago) and I remembered there are... More

I revisited this school a year later and the same outstanding teachers are providing exceptional experiences. We took an excursion with Edgar to Xochicalco and he was very interesting and knowledgeable about what took place there. I highly recommend the excursion and the guide.

As others have noted, ASLI is an exceptional place to learn Spanish and experience the Mexican culture. We especially enjoyed Paco's and Maru's hospitality. We can also highly recommend the excursions. Edgar accompanied us on a tour to Xochicalco. In addition to driving us there in a comfortable van, he provided a lively and interesting commentary on the life and... More

My husband and I returned last night from a week in Cuernavaca where we studied Spanish at ASLI. I attended one week of classes last year as a total beginner. This was his first experience learning the language -- at the beginning, he knew not a word. We chose this particular week because we wanted to experience Day of the... More

I just finished 2 1/2 weeks studying Spanish at ASLI in Cuernavaca. It's a wonderful program with outstanding teachers. I learned an enormous amount. The whole program is well organized! I stayed with a very friendly family as part of the program. The Senora is a wonderful cook which added to the experience. I would highly recommend this institute.

I attended two weeks of the semi private program. As a business professional in my late 30s who has not lived under someone else's roof in a long time, I wondered how I would fit in with a host family. All of my worries were put to rest as soon as I arrived. The house was beautiful, people were nice,... More

I have been to Cuernavaca three times but this is the first time as a student at ASLI. It is an amazing school with teachers that cater to your level of learning and listen to any concerns you might have along the way. It's a gorgeous, friendly and safe environment. I walked 30 minutes to and from school and have... More
