Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is my favorite neighborhood in Mexico City. It is the perfect mix of nice streets to walk around and hip new bars/restaurants. I much prefer to go out to eat/drink/be merry in the Roma than doing so in the Condesa.
The architecture from the Porfirio Díaz period of Mexican History is impressive and provides a very nice ambiance when walking on the wide sidewalks. The cafés, art galleries and restaurants are at times bohemian but can reach upscale heights ... some of the best Italian food can be found at Rosetta on the Calle Colima.
Overall just a really nice place to visit when in Mexico City.

Beautiful part of Mexico City with so many good options to try out local and continental food. Amazing cafes, bakeries and bars. Very popular with the locals too.

Not even in New York City does one find a neighborhood that allows one to fantasize being in Rome or Paris in the Belle Epoque, circa 1899. Don Porfirio Diaz may have been a dictator president, but the man left us some architecture to simply marvel at, including, as I saw in September, the elaborate Porfirismetique Teatro Macedonio Alcala' in Oaxaca. Much was lost in earthquakes in both cities, but filmmaker Luis Bunuel may have had Colonia Roma in mind when he said that Mexico is the most surreal country on earth. The main avenue, Alvaro Obregon, has the finest, modern tacos al pastor joints in the city, as my sons can attest, being authorities on the matter, and it is nothing to sit and eat a big plate of antojitos and stare at such architectural masterpieces as the Casa Lamm and such sculpted masterworks as -- get this boys! -- Michelangelo's "David." (Well, a two-story high replica, no fig leaf.) All this just a block or two from Insurgentes! I wish I could move there. I understand studio type apartments are reasonably priced.

We visited this place because he was including our tour, the place has a lot of history and it is supposed to be a place built for rich families in Mexico back in the 1900s however the rich families started to get out of there when it became a place to rent offices and now he has a little businesses and it’s a safe place to visit even at night

Next to the other hip neighborhood of La Condesa, this central area is full of restaurants, shops and leafy streets. The area is sometimes divided by North and South, with the Northern part closest to Avenida Alvaro Obregon with a myriad of bars and restaurants. It is the latest in gentrified neighborhoods where large old mansions are being remodeled as restaurants and shops.

Colonia Roma have some parts that are kind of nice and some parts are terrible. It feels a little unsafe depending on which street you are. There are a lot of restaurants, I've been in several bad ones. You have to choose wisely where to go. You can find several good coffee shops.
Many streets are dirty as the photograph I'm attaching.
