One of our number has a limp and another doesn't like horses, so the hiking and riding options were out. We wandered the streets cafe hopping and had a great time. The cobblestone streets can be treacherous but give the place an air. I went...More

After all of the Easter visitors had left, Real de Catorce became an interesting town to visit. Travel there anytime except Samana Santa and I am told October. There is really only one way in and most of the time it is clear and easy....More

This is a picturesque little town. The road to get here is incredible, and just wait for the tunnel. Cobblestones, ruins, rustic. Food was good everywhere. Just be prepared for the cold.

A very nice place hidden in the desert. The cobblestone road winding up the mountain and the narrow tunnel helps keep it isolated. It was cold but beautiful in this town. We had no TV, cell phone service or central heat but it was nice.

I used to live in Real. The last 30 km of road from Matewala is cobblestone which makes the bus go quite slow. No big hair pin curves. Not one white knuckle moment until you reach the tunnel. But there is nothing really... More
