There are only a few things to say about Isla Isobel: Magnificent Frigate birds, Magnificent Frigate birds, and Magnificent Frigate birds. Now ask yourself what magnificent frigate bird excrement smalls like. If you don't know now, you will never forget after spending time on Isla Isabel. We saw murals and photos of a grand nature preserve. It did have the birds, but left to disrepair over the last 15-20 years there is little left to see, on land. A wonderful experience camping on the island. There are no hotels to stay in and the island is home to noisy frigate birds which wake you very early.

I spent a few nights on the island, ate the best fish cooked over an open fire.Swam in the clear water, snorkled and speared the fish that we ate.It was a very pleasant experience. Spent a month on Isla Isabel 5 years ago. Living conditions were very rustic (sleeping bags on concrete floors) but the wildlife was very interesting, including many seabirds, some small coral reefs, humpback whales breaching offshore in season.
