About
Rhythms of the Night offers a 5-hour extravaganza, which starts with a sunset boat ride—complete with an open bar and canapés—across the bay. Sail to Caletas Beach, a secluded cove illuminated by candlelight and tiki torches, with bongo drums playing in the background. You’ll then be treated to a mesmerizing show of acrobatics, dance, storytelling, fire dancing, and more. Written and directed by the co-creator of Cirque Du Soleil, the show is inspired by Aztec legend, with a story that changes every year. If you’d like, you can even splash out on V.I.P. tickets for front-row seating at the show. – Tripadvisor

- Marlene V2 contributionsIt was alright…Nice show, food was ok. It was raining and the walk to the show area was tough. They did however provide rain coats to everyone when you arrive at the show venue. The boat ride was entertaining.Thank you for joining us on the Rhythms of the Night tour! We appreciate your presence, despite the unexpected rain. We apologize for any inconveniences it may have caused. Your enthusiasm and positive spirit made it a memorable experience. We hope to see you again soon for another rain-free adventure!Written 12 October 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 8 October 2023
- Camper066121738073 contributionsSunset cruse to dinner and a show.Fantastic show definitely worth seeing,it's the 3rd time for us going. You get a sunset cruise on a catamaran with drinks and snacks to an island filled with candles and torches. Its a circus ole type show either before or after dinner. Dinner is candle lit with the beach and ocean in the background very romantic and formal. The amphitheater can get hot and humid but its worth it. After the show and dinner you get a night cruise back with drinks. If your looking for entertainment this is the ticket. Boat cruse, drinks, show and dinner . Def safe and fun. Again me and the wife have gone 3times. Cabs are waiting to take you back to your resort once you offload the boat.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 October 2023

- portlandguy2952 contributionsFun ExperienceSpending a week in PV with friends, went to Rythms of the Nigjt on Friday. It was fun, great show, definitely recommend getting the VIP option. Food was okay, I’d recommend eating before you go. Otherwise it was a fun-filled evening, filled with an amazing show, entertaining boat ride.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 20 October 2023
- Kelly M3 contributionsThe best!!Third time in PV but our 1st time at the show and we loved it!! We were on boat 6 with Caesar and crew. They EXCEEDED our expectations. The crew was amazing from the terminal boarding to the end. The entire experience was well organized. The boat had bathrooms available. Alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks were flowing and snacks were available. Upon arrival we were seated for the show and it was incredible, visually engrossing and the music was entrancing. The dinner was fabulous! On the way back we were treated to more music and entertainment. It was a great mix of ages and all were accommodated. We could not be more complementary- it is a must do in PV.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 26 October 2023
- Alice R2 contributionsLoved the show! The boat ride over was a bit rough, the captain and crew worked hard to make it as comfortable as possible and took care of the passengers that were getting seasick. This crew worked hard. They did a little show of their own on the way back that was a lot of fun. Rhythms of the Night was FANTASTICK! Don't miss this show! The site is beautiful. The staff is kind and quick to take care of you. Unfortunately the food and wine is mediocre.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 27 October 2023
- Elias R7 contributionsAmazing Night…thank you boat #5!!While this was our third time experiencing Rhythms Of The Night, we brought another couple this year and as usual we all loved it. Practically the entire presentation was new, with the exception of the fire acrobatics, which makes it a “new” experience every time. The athleticism, skill and daring of the performers is on par and maybe even higher than Cirque De Soleil in Vegas and I highly recommend this tour with Vallarta Adventures wholeheartedly. We’ve participated in a number of activities with this company and all of them have been fantastic. The boat ride to and from Caletas itself is a great experience and especially on Boat #5, whose crew is kind, professional, attentive and so much fun. Thank you all for an amazing night! We’ll definitely see you again. We wanted to express our heartfelt gratitude for your kind review of the "Rhythms of the Night" tour. Your ongoing support as a loyal customer means the world to us. It was good if not better than the first time we seen it! The crew was definitely the best along with the show itself! Look forward to seeing it again someday soon! Would definitely recommend to friends and family!Thank you for joining us at the Night's Rhythm Tour! We're thrilled to have welcomed you back after a few years and that we met your expectations. - Andrea B15 contributionsCan't say enough about the show itselfThe show Alma is AMAZING as is Las Caletas beach. The boat ride to and from wasn't bad, they put on a little bit of a show and the booze is flowing. I do wish that there was a cheaper price for people who don't drink. Alcohol. Basically the boat ride just really wasn't our thing - but you've gotta get there somehow! When we arrived at Las Caletas it was stunning. Torches and candles lit up the beach and the staff was dressed for Dia de Muertos. The show itself was incredible. The buffet was pretty good- better than resort food. Get a cup of coffee after dinner! It's cinnamony- delicious! The staff was all entertaining and friendly. Overall a great experience.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 November 2023

Overall a great experience, the VIP is a complete waste of money. You'll be sold the you get on the boat first and off first with a preffered seating at supper and at the show. This is what happens, you line up to get on the boat first and right behind you will be the regular paying guests who will sit next to you on the boat hence no special seating on the boat. Once you leave the boat first you'll be passed by most of the guests as you stop for pictures and they will get the preffered seatign at supper. There is no designated special seating at suppoer which will guarantee the good ocean front seating, they will sit you based on availability. Hence after taking your pictures you'll be sitting in the jungle section with everyone else that paid $30 US less each. Then you'll go to the show where they will seat you at the front, in front of the regular paying guests which is about 8ft closer to the stage. Get the trend here, skip the VIP and follow the VIP people onto the boat, then follow them off the boat and pass them while they meander. Go and get the best seats for supper, then leave and go and take your pictures. For the show go about 10 minutes befire the show and line up and guessed it you sit behind the VIP where every seat is a great seat. Save yourself money!

Here is what to expect:
The boarding process is relatively easy once you get into the marina and go through three lines; one to purchase the port ticket, once to retrieve your show ticket and wristband, and another one for security. Once on the catamaran, it began to pour the rain, but this show goes on rain or shine as stated in the description. There was no mask requirement as it is an open boat. However, once the sides are closed shut due to the rain, it becomes an enclosed space. Very few passengers wore their mask during the one-hour boat ride.
Once we arrived at Las Caletas, we were given umbrellas and told we would receive rain jackets at the show, but only after everyone got soaked leaving the boat. The umbrellas made it hard to navigate through the trees and steep hills, but we know we cannot control the weather. We were the first to leave our boat and by the time we arrived at the show, they had run out of rain jackets and we were told not to use umbrellas in the theater. This meant that basically everyone on our boat was without a rain jacket. We used our umbrella throughout the show but many chose to forego them and just sit in the soaking rain. This was very unorganized and the show began as soon as we got there, which meant the show started before anyone else on our boat arrived.
The show was amazing—talented performers and well choreographed. It lasted about 75 minutes, but a taxi driver told us later that many times they shorten the show in bad weather. Once the show ended, we ate dinner. At this point it was 10:30 and everyone was soaked and tired. The candlelight dinner was nice as far as the food, but because it was so humid and sticky, everyone looked like drowned rats. They also did not turn the fans on in the dining area, which made it even worse. Everyone looked miserable but glad when the time came to walk back to the boat.
Once back on the boat after midnight, everyone was tired and wet and sleepy, but they blasted music all the way back to the marina. At the end, they had a talented light show performer show off followed by a very odd Queen tribute/mockery. At the time the show started, it was announced that those who wanted to see it should come to the bottom deck, and those that didn’t should go to the top. Then, the show immediately started, causing gridlock in the stairs and around the boat.
To end the trip, the announcer on the boat was very rude and passive to those not having a good time, which was nearly everyone on board. He also stated that taxis would be waiting, but I might have only seen 3 or 4 max.
To summarize, I think the dinner show was very good but I would only recommend going in good weather. Vallarta Adventures was very unorganized and unequipped to handle the rainy weather. Everyone was soaked and tired by the time we arrived back to the marina. I would have had a more enjoyable time if they were more organized and better prepared.

They did not follow any safetly guidelines and it was extremely unorganized. My friend and I went on Oct. 10th at 7pm. First of all they had 150 people on one boat. It was extremely crowded and not alot of people had their masks on. Our boat ride there it was beautiful with the sunset but the staff ignored my friend and I. We also were ignored by the photographer that offered pictures to everyone but us. Once we got to the island were the show was it started to rain really had and they cut the show in half. They could have a back up plan for these situations but they didn't. We had also paid 30 dollars more for open bar and once we got to the table we asked for drinks once and were told to wait, the waiter never came back to us to offer any drinks. We were looking forward to this and were extremelly disapointed, not worth the money.

Hello zitlalicm,
First, let us say that we are incredibly sorry that your experience wasn't what we had planned for it to be. We pride ourselves on delivering some of the most unique adventures in Mexico and the feeling that we want you to leave with should be one of excitement and happiness.
Unfortunately on the night of your tour, one of our boats scheduled to take guests to the venue was met with a slight issue and we did not want to chance it by taking it out anyways. We did something that we would have never done by boarding more people onto the other boats.
Please accept our most sincere apologies for the unfortunate series of events that caused you to have a less than favorable experience. We would love to have another opportunity to provide an experience that exceeds all your expectations, for that is truly who we are.

This is a fantastic show! I have read other comments from people who did not rated it well because of bad weather and that definitely would ruin the experience. A suggestion is to buy your ticket the day before or early the same day. Besides, by reading other comments, you can get a better price buying it from the hotel, or your travel rep. Åsk for a discount. The evening boat ride was good for us, the crew was very attentive serving drinks and answering questions. They put on a show and entertained us. I wonder how they could do so much. The dinner was in a romantic setting, the food was the best food I had tried during my stay, it seemed most of it was homemade. The show was very pleasant and surprising. Lights and effects were amazing. We really enjoyed this trip, well worth the money. I wish we would have had another day to visit the same place during the day. The island is beautiful and the natives make you feel welcome and special with all they do for tourists. If you have light mobility issues, like me, I recommend you take walking sticks. The way to the theater area is on incline and unless you have someone to hang on to, it could be difficult.

I did this excursion through my ship. We were picked up via boat directly from our ship. We had about an hour boat ride with unlimited alcohol (margaritas, rum punch) and nonalcoholic punch, soda, and water. Towards the end of the boat ride, they try to sell you $20 wristbands for open bar at the destination. Do NOT buy one. Everyone gets a drink at dinner and there isn't time for more. Upon arrival, we had a buffet dinner and buffet dessert. From there we headed directly to the show. It is a cirque style show and extremely entertaining. We all loved it. There is plenty of seating, but it seemed pretty open in the section furthest from the door, so don't rush into a seat, walk to the other side. They will try and get you to take a picture walking into the show which they will sell to you later on your way back. If you need a restroom, go before the show, they rush you back to the boat after. Bring hand sanitizer and insect repellent. After the show, it is back to the boat for more alcohol and more entertainment. The boat moves a lot, so sit in the open area on the main level if you want to see the entertainment. It is hard to walk around, but don't worry, they will bring the alcohol to you. We were returned directly to our ship, happy and carefree. I highly recommend this excursion.

This is a must do in Puerto Vallarta and I highly recommended it. I would recommend the VIP upgrade IF you get a discount, we went during December and they were running a 30% off. The VIP will get you 1st on the boat, 1st off the boat and unlimited drinks. with some caveats. They do a good job getting VIP's on the boat 1st, where you seat will have a lot to do when they try to get VIP's off 1st. If you're on the top deck when you dock, there will be a huge line of people moving to get off, you may or may not be 1st off. I do recommend lower deck, particularly in December as it's a bit brisk even on the early departure and the crew show on the way back in more visible. If you are 1st off, once you hit the trail to the buffets, Do Not get stopped by the photographer as the people behind will just pass you by. VIP states you get an "exclusive dining location" I'm not sure how true that is, they seem to just seat you by filling in as the groups coming, moving the later groups deeper into area. All the seating's are nice and we did get one right on the edge with a great ocean view (or a good as it gets at night) but as we later explored (it goes forever) they are all good locations and as best as I could tell every buffet (there are about 5) is exactly the same. When it's time for the show no matter when you get the the opening, the VIPS they funnel down to the front, based on other reviews we did not go do and sat in the 3rd row in the main section. I feel, as did other reviews, these VIP seats are too close, there are things happening everywhere, left, right, behind, above, and when the trampoline acrobats performed they were behind most of the VIP's so you'd have to crank your neck around. There is no preference getting back on the boat, it's just a mass of people moving back. My recommendations would be:
1. Buy VIP "IF" you get a discount, it's worthwhile to a point, but not full price.
2. Wear good shoes, there are few paved areas and mostly dirt paths here, Bring a walking stick or cane if you have even a slight balance issue. it's a little bit of hiking to get around and it's a bit of a maze but worth the exploration, which you'll have some time to do.
3. There is almost no electricity here except the dining area's and the stage, There are 1000's of candles the light the paths, the bathrooms (these are interesting), etc.
4. IMO the 5:30pm is the best trip, see the sunset out and get back early enough that it was a nice, easy walk to my hotel (Hilton PVR)
5. Tips are collected on the way out by staff with basics, be prepared the line moving towards the boats will not let you stop and get out your money.
5. all in all, highly recommend, Trip over and back is fun, food is average, the service and show are worth the money

We have heard a lot about Rhythms of the Night from folks in Vallarta and had not yet taken the plunge. On our most recent visit for my parents 50th wedding anniversary we decided to book it. Its not cheap, $139 (give or take a few bucks depending on the commission the vendor charges).
Although no fault of Vallarta Adventure, the port experience in miserable. You stand in the heat waiting in a long line to pay the port tax, one cashier only. Its only 29 pesos but the place has no AC and no fans.
The boat ride is pleasant, not fancy. They have pre-made drinks , margaritas, beer, and rum punch. There is a light snack as well which is good because be warned, you don't get dinner until after 10PM! Us Americans are not used to that! LOL
The arrival is organized and the spot is beautiful, truly enchanting with the candles and torches lining the paths. we were led quite a ways to the outdoor theatre for the show. I would say that it is much further of a walk than I anticipated and may be less than ideal for those with mobility or stamina issues. (especially in muggy July)
The show is good, engaging and entertaining, not too long.
After the show you walk back the direction you came and are seated for dinner. Dinner was agin, not fancy, but tasty, buffet style.
The boat ride home was fun. We were all tired and ready to be done but then the boat stuff put on a "show" that brought us all back to life! They really are fantastic entertainers!
Overall a good experience, after tips etc we were in it about $160 US per person. Again not cheap, there are sunset cruises etc with dinner and open bar for $60-80 per person so if the show isn't what you are after you may want to look into those instead.

The grounds are absolutely breathtaking! The torch lit scene is stunning! And the show was top notch, we enjoyed it very much! Dinner was good although not warm enough but that tends to happy with a buffet. My biggest complaint is the alcohol. You pay extra for an open bar but on the boat ride over and back which are both about an hour long it is not an open bar it is your choice of what they called margaritas or rum punch. They both were like sugar water absolutely could not taste ANY alcohol! I have been on other similar tours and fully understand that drinks need to be pretty watered down or things could go south with such a large group, but the drinks on this drip were VERY disappointing! Also we were on boat six and you simply could not hear what the gentleman on the Microphone was saying. The sound was very bad. I know he was giving out information that probably would have been useful. The guys on the boat were great and put on a good show.

We booked the trip with Vallarta Adventures and the crew on the boat ride over was fun and entertaining. You have the option of purchasing your ticket with open bar or soft drinks without alcohol. (Be advised that if you choose the open bar, you'll be drinking on an empty stomach as dinner is not served until after the show. A few of the guests on our boat seemed to have over-indulged a little bit.)
Upon arrival at Coletas we were led along the paths through the tropical forest with candles and torches lighting the way to the open air theatre. It was very beautiful and set the tone for the evening. The Savia : Rhythms of the Night show was spectacular! The special effects make you feel as though you are actually at an ancient site in another time. The music and the vocals are absolutely wonderful throughout the show. The performers and acrobats weave a story. The incredible strength, grace and beauty of the acrobatics is astounding. The flaming torches that are juggled and thrown will have you holding your breath in awe. The show was amazing!!!
After the show, we were shown to the restaurant buffet dinner according to the size of our groups. The restaurant dining area and tables were also lit by torches and candlelight. The food served at the buffet was very fresh and so delicious. I will admit that I did not expect to enjoy the buffet so much. There were different kinds of salads, fruits, a selection of breads and cheeses, pasta and rice. For the proteins they were serving a seafood mix of shrimp and squid, chicken, fish, steak. Each was prepared in a sauce and they were all cooked perfectly, not at all overdone. There is so much to choose from that everyone will find something to enjoy. Soft drinks and alcoholic beverages were offered all through dinner.
You're told in advance that after dinner you will need to wait until it's time for your boat to start boarding. As we made our way back to the boat, again we were following the paths lit by candles and torches back to the dock to head back to civilization. Danny and the crew outdid themselves entertaining us on the boat ride back to Puerto Vallarta. What a fantastic amazing evening!!! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
p.s. I have special needs and Danny and his crew made sure to lookout and assist me all night! They were great!!!

A popular tour in PV. If you want to see the sunset and a possible whale or dolphin sighting book the early boat (5:30). It takes one hour to cruise across the bay to the dinner and the show. Not sure why they can’t leave at 4:30 and 6:00pm so that both boats get to see the sunset. The 2nd boat leaves at 7pm just after the sun set. When you arrive you have to head straight to the show which starts at 8:30 and ends around 9:30. Then you must wait until all passengers from the first boats leave to be able to go eat, at which is now 10 pm. As for the show it was ok. Some very talented individuals.

Is this for adults only of families?

I would recommend adults only although I seem to remember a few older kids. We ate at the early dinner seating (5:30) and didn't get back to Vallarta Adventures until 12:30 am. I would highly recommend!!! While a bit expensive, it was fabulous from the time we boarded the boat to go to the island - dinner was amazing - the show was top notch and the entertainment on the boat coming back was almost as good as the actual show on the island. If you do anything in PV/Nuevo....I would recommend this show.
