Taking cooking classes has been something I love to do when traveling. Today's class did not disappoint. Enrique arrived on time and was very welcoming. As we have a kitchen here in PV and love to cook, I was happy to discover the market. We were able to make and eat many tasty dishes. Chef Enrique is a professional, everything... More

If you're looking for an adventure in PV, this cooking experience is a treat. You spend most of the day with the chef and his assistants, learning about Mexican culinary history, shopping in the Mercado, and cooking and enjoying a great meal at chef Enrique's home. Everyone (chef, his family and his assistant) is delightful. This cooking class is suitable... More

Had a wonderful experience learning about Mexico, the cuisine and typical ingredients...and then we got to make tamales, salsas and tortillas. Enrique is a great teacher who knows and loves the history of Mexico and traditional Mexican cooking. He eagerly answered all of our questions. There were 6 of us and we all got to do a lot of the... I love to cook and have been to a number of cooking schools over the years. I liked Enrique and I liked that we went to the market together to buy the food for the day's class. He explained a lot as we shopped, and I appreciated that. The class set up was good and we all had assignments for... More

We were very excited about this activity but I'm really sad to say it didn't live up to our expectations. I would give this 1 out of 5 stars, but giving it 2 due to Enrique and his wife's passion for food. What went wrong: - Too long - 6-7 hours -- the market stop should have been 30 min,... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Enrique and his wife from shopping in the market for local ingredients to the actual preparation of the various fish dishes in their home and then having a great meal together with tequila served as well. The actual preparation was deceptively simple with so much help on hand; using the printed recipes is going... More

We did the tour on a Monday with only one other couple which made for a nice small group. Enrique does a very good job of hosting, entertaining and answering the many questions we had during our class. We visited local farmers market where we purchased our ingredients. Saw how tortillas are made and walked through the fish and meat... More

We took part in the Cooking Vallarta in April 2017, we did a Monday class and made Tacos al Pastor. Joana toured us through the Mercado Palmar De Aramara and the Fruteria Montero. She is very knowledgeable, personable, and a great driver. Enrique and his family made us feel very welcome in their home, and the food we prepared was... More

This was my third time to have the Cookin' Vallarta experience. It is always interesting and fun and the food that you help prepare is fabulous. Enrique really knows his history and the trip to the market with Enrique and Susana provided great information about how to choose fresh fish and produce. Each time I have enjoyed different dishes and... More
