Old Vallarta is my favorite place in Vallarta. Get away from the all inclusive resorts. You are able to see the real Vallarta, vibrant people that are full of life. Shopping is very economical, and you can find whatever you may be looking for. Very...More

This is a cool area to visit to see how local live and dine. You can visit the Catholic Church and also an old lighthouse. Very nice area and it was decorated for the day of the dead which made even more beautiful.

A few years ago it was fantastic, but with all the condos being built it has definitely lost its charm, if your from a very large city it might not both you but for us locals really hurts.

You have to visit here to get the real perspective of Puerto Vallarta. You will see how the working people really live away from the resorts. The people are very friendly and the shops have reasonable prices. Worth the visit.

My family stayed in Nuevo Vallerta but went to Old Vallarta for some restaurants and we were amazed by how clean the streets were, and tons of stores and restaurants to see.

Old Vallarta is what perhaps you expect of a Mexican old town on your first visit. Cobbled streets Chris crossed with people, food stalls and traffic. I don't think there is anything you can't buy or look at. Loads of bars, food stalls and tourists shops....More

I love strolling around the city and old Vallarta being particular joy. Strolling around looking at the architecture and just the whole general feel of the place made for a wonderful walk

Still a beautiful area despite the recent increase in tearing down old buildings and replacing them with more condos. Beach area is still very nice as are the many restaurants and bars. 10 years ago Old Town/Romantic zone was a 5/5 . Still well worth...More

Love this neighborhood. There are more authentic colonias but Old Town is unique to Puerto Vallarta and a must-see while visiting. Filled with shops and markets, restaurants and bars, there is ton to do, not to mention the beach, La Isla Cuale, or Olas Altas....More

Annette ... the cruise ship terminal is 10+ miles from Old Town (or correctly referred to as Zona Romantica & Emillo Zapata Zone's). I would start my day with a taxi ride to Playa Los Muertos that should cost around 80-90... More
