Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Music to loud to talk, forgot to put in order, overcharged for drinks. Many reasons to pass this place by. The oysters once they finally arrived were just "okay".

Music so loud I couldn’t bear it. Waiter unfriendly. I left before he brought my drink. Didn’t try the food so cannot comment on that.

The only thing good about it is the beach. The food is not special. I would definitely skip it. I’m sure whoever brought us there was paid commission. It’s terrible.

We got to our resort (Gaviana Resort) early, after moving from Centro Historico, where we had been the last 9 days. We had to kill time until our 2 pm check in. Walked over to Joe’s Oyster bar right next door to get a quick lunch and a couple margaritas. The shrimp and fries were good. My only complaint on the food would be the 1000 Island dressing for the shrimp was gross. But the margaritas we had were even worse than that! Worst margaritas we have ever had in Mexico in 18 years. Tasteless, weak, flavorless doesn’t even begin to describe them. We should have just ordered a couple beers - hard to mess that up. We will walk down the street from now on for the rest of our trip. Ran in to another couple walking in as we left, who had just arrived too, told them how awful the drinks were and they went down the street to Pancho’s, as did we.

It has become necessary to stop here a few times on each trip to Mazatlan for the incredible shrimp basket. I know that I should try something else on the menu but I just need this fix every year. Also the best fresh salsa anywhere. just the right kick.

Can't beat eating a plate of oysters, drinking a good beer and watching the sunset on the beach. This place is awesome.

They play music all night and it’s too loud not enjoyable when you are trying to sleep! We did not eat here we just heard the obnoxiously loud music nearly every night of our stay. Really?!

Very bad service, they wouldn't even give us the menu and they had no Oysters. The waitress was very rude, he wouldn't explain the menu or the food they did had.
The view is good and the beer is cold.
