Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Malecon is iconic Mazatlan. You simply cannot come to Mazatlan and not see this section of town. The beach in the area from Valentinos to Fisherman's Monument is not particularly wide and tourist friendly. That is not to say that it is unfriendly, but this is not a beach where you will find beach salesmen, banana boat salesmen, parasailing. et al. What you will find is exercising people. On the beach, in the water, along the Malecon, on skates, bikes, at the exercise gym near the fisherman's monument, and so on. There are many palapa style restaurants down on the beach as well. The Malecon is a fantastic place to start your day, or end your day walking alongside other likeminded people who just want to enjoy the sounds of the surf, breathe in Mazatlan, and who love being there. You simply must stop on the Malecon and enjoy it, and take a picture or two of you there. Just because.

Good place to go walking. There are a few palapa style places to eat & drink on the beach. The views out to the ocean are beautiful.

A very popular boardwalk for joggers , bikers, and skateboarders. It is lit up at night and there is free parking in the middle of the boulevard. It has beautiful sculptures for walkers to enjoy and is wide enough so there is no congestion of traffic.

This is a hard one to rate, because the beach is narrow and nothing special and runs along a very noisy road. S
o if you are looking for beach, this would be one of the last choices in the city. However the Malecon runs alongside of it and is one of the best urban walks anywhere. Best times are early in the morning when there are tons of walkers, runners, bicyclists and rollerbladers, a very colorful obstacle course of humanity. Weekend evenings are also good with lots of strolling families and the lovely lights of the city. Walk north to south at either time.

probably not the best beach for water activities, but very nice views. walking along the malecon is nice during the day and lots of 'local' activities in the evenings.
