Old town is a must when traveling to Mazatlan. The Machado is only one of the neat places to visit. Most things are within walking distance and transportation is readily available.

Should visit during the evening on a weekend. Beautiful square but very little happening when we went. Good starting point for a tour of old Maz.

We love coming to the plaza at night. The atmosphere is electric. Great restaurants. Live music. Definitely worth the trip out of the hotel zone to get there.

This center of town is so quaint and even more beautiful at night than it is during the day. There are many restaurants and shops to visit, easy for a few hours of fun. If it's hot when you visit, go see it at night!

So much going on! Music and several restaurants all around the square. Great food and entertainment. A fun place to meet friends for a relaxing evening. During the day you will also find street entertainers that will make you smile! We will definitely go back...More

Having been to Mazatlan multiple times, the grandeur of the Plaza Machado and the Centro Historico in general never gets old. In fact I feel like it has gotten nicer, cleaner and a bit more 'gentrified' overall. To visit on Christmas night and be part...More

The old town area of Mazatlan is breath taking. And the plaza itself is so inviting. We only got to one restaurant in the plaza and it was excellent. The area is so clean and so well maintained. Loved it.

There are several restaurants close or on the Machado. Tupelo and the Presidio are wonderful. Casa 46 is also very good. Lots of things to see on the weekend.

About 2 US dollars..one could walk or take city bus for about 50 cents in US currency. Depends on exchange rate.

The Plaza Machado is in Centro Historico and is about a 30 minutes north along the coastal road, the Malecon. A nice taxi or pulmonea ride - but to far to walk.

There are several shops, restaurants and a city center (Plaza Machado) near the ship dock; however, the beach is too far to walk to. If you want to go to the beach or boardwalk (malecon), you can take a pulmonia. Pulmonias... More
