Like most open markets, this one is full of butcher shops, vegetable stands, and groceries stands. It's a nice place to sort your fresh food, for veggies and fruits are "ripe for the picking"!

The mercado is always a stop for us when in Mazatlan. Just recognize that there are street people mingling around watching gringos. Keep you wallet in a secure place and have pesos in your pocket so you can pay without flashing the cash in your...More

We always go to the market when in Mazatlan. Since we stay in a house while we are here (& have cooking facilities) we have purchased chickens at the market. We roasted them & they were delicious. The chicken is different looking because they are...More

You owe it to yourself to go see the market. See how it looks and since you most likely won't buy any meat, look at the fruit they have. We went when the mangos were out of season, but they still had dried mangoes that...More

This huge market is a real experience. Our friendly Pulmonia driver took us there, and waited for us to do some shopping. He helped me find some decent cigars. The market is the central part of the city. Riding in a Pulmonia was only way...More

Great place to shop for bargains, and don't miss the restaurants on the second floor at the west end, where you can get a delicious lunch for 50 pesos (less than $3 US).

We wanted to go to the organic farmers market that is only there on Saturday but not having been there before, we realized after that we were at the wrong place. Fruits and vegetables were cheap. Watch out for rats. Some of the vendors are...More

I've been to so many markets that I admit I'm getting picky. If you're a gringo as we are, then don't come here with your heart set on finding designer clothes or unique art. The magic in this place is that it gives you a...More

No idea, sorry. Just go in the daytime Monday-Saturday. Sunday and evenings would be iffy.
