A great experience. I approached the entrance with trepidation, having seen dozens of iguanas in the trees from the street. The iguanas of all sizes are not enclosed but roaming freely, everywhere. They were well behaved and stayed behind the single rope that separates the...More

A small animal rescue run by donations only. It is free to enter. They have not only Iguanas, but other animals as well like wild pigs. Check it out and leave a few pesos if you can.

I agree with other reviewers who have said the conditions are less then idea for animals like raccoons in captivity. None the less the iguanas were very interesting and are free to come and go.

A simple but interesting place to visit to see all sizes of Iguanas up close and in the trees. Other animals present as well. The owner is doing a great job in creating this refuge for iguanas and other animals. Difficult to get to but...More

Boy, this is a tough one. The overflowing army of iguanas, who apparently live in the trees because they are fed, was a site to behold - in fact it was one of my granddaughters trip highlights. They seem prehistoric and and actually fascinating to...More

Our friend took us to see the Iguanas. No cost to go inside but a donation is appreciated. I missed the hundreds at feeding time but there were still many around when I was there. For a peso you can feed an iguana a banana...More

People expecting pristine zoos will be disappointed, but those who care to get up close and personal with HUNDREDS of iguanas will be pleased. No admission charge, just a donation box ... and 5 pesos if you want to hand-feed a lizard a banana.

Wow! I wasnt sure what to expect. Even before we entered the park, you could see the Iguanas in the trees. Once we entered we saw some cute little raccoons napping and climbing freely where ever they wanted to go. No cage or fence! The...More

Not knowing the opening time we went at 10AM. Walked down Francis I. Madero until we saw the arena then crossed the canal bridge to the entrance. About a 10 minute walk from the Hotel Colonia. Gate was closed. A neighbour called to the employee...More

We took a taxi here from the Barceló. It was fun to watch the iguanas eating and doing their head bob. We spent about an hour here. My favorite were the Badgers, they were fun to watch. The taxi who dropped us off, told us...More

You can walk, it is about one kilometer or 1/2 mile. The walk will take you through the main downtown shopping. If you take a taxi, don't get in unless the taxi driver agrees to a fare of 30 pesos or less. The santuary is at... More
