Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This beach is hard to reach but quite a treasurer. We shared a 10KM ?long beach with 3 fishermen and 4 other people. In other words, nobody was there.
Not good for swimming because of a dangerous under toe but I would guess that it is good for surfing????

This is a gorgeous beach with white sand. If you look in either direction you will see no development whatsoever just mountains and palm trees. However I would not recommend swimming here the ways are very big in the current is dangerous. It is also quite isolated

Heard a lot of complains on here before I went to stay ...you have to visit by yourself; and like any vacation there's pros and cons...staff are amazing. I am not going to mentioning any names because I might miss somone.

The beach near the Vista Playa de Oro is perfection. We've gone to this beach many times over the last 10 years and never had a problem with the undertow or current. We generally purchase boogie boards from the beach venders and spend hours playing in the surf. Last visit we purchased fresh fish from some fisherman who were bringing in their catch on the beach, then took them to the restaurant at our hotel and they prepared them for us for dinner that night. We love the lack of commercialism in the area.

Manzanillo is the prime example of some of the planets evolution, so much Fools Gold in the sand means there were major changes in the ocean and Manzanillo is evidence of it.

Most of the beach in Manzanillo has a Muddy feel with huge amounts of black sand and Fools Gold. Sort of annoying because it sticks and its hard to wash off.

Hubby and I returned to Playa de Oro for second year in a row. We find it to be a nice compact resort where you don't have to walk far for anything. Buffet, bars, pool and beach all within 5 minutes. Return guests are treated extra special with a bottle of rum in our room, extra a la cartes and a private lobster and steak dinner show. Staff were friendly, "Orlando" in the main dining room was very attentive. Evening shows were awesome. We will return!

The beach is a great place to relax, get wet and enjoy the ambiance. The shrimp skewers and mango with chili powder is delicious! Walk north along the beach and you will find shops and cafes. We stopped at La Palapa for a beer. We ordered guacamole and rellenos de fresco. Incredible food and great service!
