We visited Puerto Marques on our trip to Acapulco, we rented a taxi from our accommodation on Avenida Costera to the entrance of Puerto Marques, as soon as we got out of the taxi and the sellers began to approach you very insistently, which is somewhat distressing since for more We told them that we already had food, they were still insistent, they wanted to rent us a palapa for 500 pesos if we didn't eat, which seems excessive to me. As for the beach, we were a little disappointed since the waves were a bit strong and the waves reached very high. shore where the restaurants were, I asked a boatman how much he charged us to go to Pichilingue beach and he told me 1,200.00. Due to the expensive prices and the fact that the beach was not in good condition we decided to walk to Majahua beach but when we were leaving the boatman spoke to me and lowered the price to $600.00 to take us to Pichilingue to which I accepted, we were not planning to stay on the beach from Puerto Marques because the vendors won't leave you alone and the beach is not so quiet. I had seen that Puerto Marques is highly recommended, but I really recommend going to Pichilingue, which is 10 minutes by boat from the bay.

My fiancée is from Mexico and we have been to places in Mexico. We both like less developed areas, especially small towns, because we enjoy how nice the people are, and we enjoy the authenticity. Much of Mexico is this way and we don’t like the pretense and Americanization of many tourist spots (not just in Mexico). Cabo is an example.
If you don’t mind driving 5 miles an hour down a quarter mile stretch of open air shops and restaurants run by locals where guys are constantly jumping in front of your taxi to get you to stop, you’ll be fine. I do not have the same perspective of most tourists because my Mexican fiancée is treated like family, which is especially enjoyable. I think it is worth a visit, but I would eat elsewhere.

This beach is getting better although there is a lot of cleaning that still needs to be done. The small palapa restaurants are neglecting the beach.

Bad treatment of tourists with their attention
Terrible kitchen
Attention from Mr. Dad and Son, owners of the place, extremely rude.
I don't want to go into details about the bad experience my family and I had in that restaurant 😩😩

We had the opportunity to enjoy this bay in January 2007. We rented a jetski from the vendors at the Camino Real hotel's beach for U.S. $40 for 30 minutes. We putted around the Bahía de Puerto Marques and got a good look around. This little bay is so pretty and green. It's very picturesque, with big rocks along the water, stretches of sandy beach, and palm trees everywhere. This was our first time on a jetski and we really enjoyed it. The bay was so calm, it was a great place to try jetskiing.
Later that day, we took a taxi into Puerto Marques. The beach in Puerto Marques is really pretty. Even on that post-holiday Monday, there were still families there enjoying seafood and banana boat rides. There were several spots near the beach that were good for snorkeling. The seafood restaurants smelled great, and prices were reasonable. We walked through town a bit and saw an open-air tortilla factory, the church, and a small market.

We went to visit a friend of a friend's restaurant at Puerto Marques. Luckily the service there was poor, otherwise we would never have found Bluewater. This place is like day and night compared to others in the area. We are by no means queezy toward typical Mexican standards in the area but Bluewater was a big draw to International and local customers alike. It is a new restaurant with an abundant staff. There is a huge pizza oven and a first class bar and bartender which is a rare find in Puerto Marques. There is a small pool area upstairs and the restrooms were clean and modern. The beer and food is competively priced with the lesser restaurants but the bar drinks are consistent with a quality bar which it is.
Have your taxi driver weave through the ambush of customer starved restaurant hawks until you are almost to the end of restaurant row. Keep an eye to the right and you can't miss the modern location. At this time there is no wifi.
I can't wait to go back next year to spend more time.

We hit this beach one day - because from the road it looks amazing! I feel that many areas in Acapulco are either all rich people or all poor people...not much in between. We are average people - not rich not poor ....thrill seekers and over all well seasoned ....our experience at this beach was not good. The area is VERY POOR and people are RUNNING up to your car on the drive in trying to get you to eat at their restaurant and buy things. You have to choose a place because there is no other parking available. We selected a restaurant with beach chairs and a bath room. The locals were nice but the bath rooms were not clean at all!!! I can deal with basic but not filthy and no T.P. The food was ok but we couldn't converse due to the 100s of vendors walking by us trying to sell their goods. I think the Mexican Gov should pass a law or make vendors stay on the beach and OFFER their goods but not push them on tourists - it was sickening. ( EVRY 10 sec they would hit you up and they WOULD NOT take NO for an answer.) I understand they are trying to do their job...but they dont seem to understand they are driving tourists away! Upon leaving - our bill was incorrect and my husband ( who is Mexican ) tried to sort it out with the owner and they would not adjust the prices to match what was in their menu - basically they were over charging us. My husband and I felt ripped off and would never go back. Too many other nice places to hit for beach view and food - such as Barra Vieja. We feel that in 5 to 10 years that whole area will be scooped up by a hotel chain and turned into condos. ( sad to say ) I feel bad for the locals - but it all goes back to Education and they dont know any better. It was a depressing experience. If you just want to hit the beach - I suggest the Diamond beach area and Barra Vieja. We ate dinner at Barra Vieja and the locals there told us "they didn't even like" the Marques area. I hope the future generations of Mexico in this area all get a GREAT education so they can become the best restaurant and hotel owners and lift themselves out of this mess. I LOVE MEXICO and wish to see all of them succeed!!

I was hoping that by this time the restaurant had it's own listing on TA but apparently the ownership has not gotten around to doing so yet. This restaurant is less then 1 year old and located exactly in the middle of the strip of all the restaurants in PM.
Blue water is top shelf for this area and as my friend Andy aka Drew22 stated in his review below we are very comfortable in lesser type of establishments and many times prefer the simpler places. Having said that BW is a great place to spend an afternoon enjoying the beautiful bay and having a few drinks and meal.
The restaurant has 1st rate facilities shower/restrooms (Excellent) for the area and if you know PM it is not best for these in past years experience. The menu is extensive and somewhat pricey in spots but there are reasonably priced entrees and appetizers especially the empanadas with shrimp...A very large and satisfying order for 80 peso.
The beer was in line with all the other beach front shacks along the way as we priced many of them in the vicinity 5 for 95 peso or about 8 USD not bad huh??. They have an upper deck in which you can sun yourselves with comfortable cushioned lounge chairs and even a small built in pool on the upper deck.
As I said entirely out of place for a small fishing village like Puerto Marques but a very welcomed addtion for those liking a more comfortable and less rustic place to spend a day.
The bottom line we went with about 12 people and we all loved the place and swimming in the bay was relaxing and cleaner then I have ever seen it. PM is about 25 minutes fromn the main bay area of Acapulco and a great place to spend a day. Don't miss out!!!!

This is a great beach: sandy, no waves due to the cove. There are few non-nationals there, but the food is amazing and the beer cheep and cold. We went to a restaurant that does not seem to come up on Trip Adviser: Don Tomy: get the Octopus in love it is wonderful; Margaritas are so small but so powerful. Sit in the sun and take a dip when you get hot. There are many venders so practice: "No gracias"; " cerveza por favor" banios.
Getting there: contract with a cab you trust, some will wait others will come back; try to get out before dark as people can get pretty drunk later in the day (we used whats app) there is only one road in and out so expect some traffic. Mega is on the way out if you need to supply.
