Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Decent beach, lots of little stones in the first 15 meters of the shoreline. The water is pretty shallow, so not ideal for swimming or snorkeling. We at the Bruja something. The ceviche was fresh and tasty, but eat inside bc the flies outside are relentless. The pina colada was awesome.
Ranks lower to me amongst all the beaches in this area, but definitely gets points for having a couple of places to eat.

The beach is absolutely stunning. We enjoyed the stunning view and the crystal clear water. The beach was clean and perfect to hang out at with our family of a one year old & three teenagers. Great place for swimming and relaxing. We did get drinks at the restaurant & they were pretty watery and mediocre at best. I recommend the beach, but not the restaurant.

Nice beach, closer and less crowded than the other beaches. We went to this beach on our last day in La Paz. Definitely worth checking out if you have multiple days in La Paz to explore different beaches. We were there on a Saturday and it was not busy at all. There are two beach shacks to get food and drinks if you don’t want to bring them. There is also chair and lounger rentals. There is a place to rent kayaks at the end of the beach but was not opened when we stopped by.

This is a very beautiful, calm and cool beach. We came here while we waited for the ferry to depart. The place is great, but keep in mind there are no palapas, trees or any type of shade. The only way not to be directly on the sun is by bringing your own things, or eating/drinking on one of the restaurants on the beach.

The beach is a secluded spot with a Palapa restaurant for dining in the sand. It's a nice place to hit the beach and catch the sunset. The restaurant is expensive and well regarded amongst the locals this was a bad day. My wife and I planned a big dinner out to Pichilingue to have the renowned seafood and we both got sick for two days. We had mediocre margs, lobster tacos, ceviche, and baked clams; one of the above made us sick. You'd think a place with $30 tacos would be cleaner, we were let down tremendously.

The large restaurant with the sandy floor also turned out to be one of our favourites in this area. We shared a fried whole fish and it was delicious. This beach although looked like it was too close to the Ferry terminal action turned out to be one of the best for snorkelling. Off to the right hand side if you are facing the ocean, there are tons of fishy. Where it is n=more shallow, there are black sea urchins that made the under water scene look like an aquarium. Love this beach and the Playa Pichilnque Restaurant there.

If you're looking for an authenic Mexican beach that locals flock to, that is not overrun by tourists, this beach is for you. Very comfortable feel, plenty of beach to walk and explore, drinks, food and nice shallow / warm water to wade in. So relaxing, you don't want to leave

Very peaceful location. Had ice cold beers and watched the sunset under a huge palapa. Water was tranquil and colorful. Had the feel of "old" Mexico without the high rise hotels, loud music and beach vendors. Easy access from town.

Beautuful wide sand beach. Quite a few campers but lots of room to spread out. Bring a wrap as it was quite windy making it seem chilly.

Why does the location show it so far from any beach? Google maps cannot even find this beach and your map shows it in the city on a street with the same name. Very confusing!

It is about 10 miles north of La Paz, not hard to locate . We stopped first at playa Tesoro, super shallow water.

we are going in a cruise ship bur heard so much about this beach we are traveling with a 13 and 14 year olds (boys) what can we do at this beach to keep them entertained
Written 1 March 2016
When you arrive, you will want to take a bus from the Cruise Ship Terminal. The closest and most beautiful beaches, about 6 kms. very short drive, are Balandra and Playa El Tecolote. You will not find much nicer beaches anywhere. Amenities like food and beer, margaritas are available at Tecolote. Very nice beach restaurants and bars, but very rustic. Great for families, also Balandra has paddle board and kayak rentals in the large bay that is part of Balandra. Enjoy your cruise!
