We decided on what is now our 14th trip to the Ensenada area to visit the Marcelo Cheese cave in Ojos Negros. So taking highway 3 out of Ensenada it was clear this was a different road than the one to the wine valley (full of potholes and rough) as we went up into the mountains from Ensenada (we drove... Visited with friends, four of us on a Sunday afternoon. We were welcomed by friendly staff members and seated quickly in the indoor section of the restaurant. The food was fabulous. I had the lamb and others had the rib eye steak and the portobello mushroom. We shared a bottle of their red wine which is a blend and was... More

Just an amazing winery with an equally amazing history. Since my tour is has been bought out. Prior to that it was the best winery on the tour.

This place is the only cava in Latin America. The place is beautiful and perfect if you are looking to experience a delicious meal. A visit to the cava can become a nice date for couples or a nice outing for families. My cousins and I visited and had the linguini with the lamb it was exquisite, we had never... More

I like to support local and family run businesses. The tour is quite interesting and would recommend. We didn't enjoy our meal because there were too many flies during dinner that were bothersome. I would recommend to go during winter in the hope of not having to share your good with flies. Otherwise; do the tour, taste the cheese and... More

Great place to take the family & spend the afternoon! You can tour the stables where the cows are kept, and milked, along with the dairy where the milk is processed into cheese. Then take the time to enjoy a cheese tasting down inside the cheese cellar --the first of it's kind, I believe, in Latin America. Lovely outdoor areas... More

Oh my gosh!!! This is one of our most favorite tours EVER!!!!! It's so country and authentic, a little primitive in the cheese making (which is awesome), you can even enjoy seeing and petting cows!!! The cheese cellar is AMAZING....cool, dark, inviting....you taste different cheeses that have been aged with bread and apples. It is an amazingly fun experience!!! We... More

A little out of the way but this is the place... More

This is about an hour out of Ensenada--very scenic, but with part of the drive quite a distance driving on dirt roads. We were in an SUV; I wouldn't recommend driving a regular car here. You need to watch closely for the signs for "Cava de Queso", but it was worth the visit. There's a random military checkpoint on the... More
