Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing facility and visit. Incredible to see these predator birds trained and so gentle and I afraid of people. Got to hold a Falcon on my gloved hand and pet her. Then got to have a Hawk fly to my gloved hand and land ever so gently on it. Amazing. Highly recommend a visit to this unusual working business! 5stars plus!

We visited Island Falconry Services on the morning of Saturday, July 13th, 2019.
Conveniently located off the Trans Canada Highway a few minutes from the Confederation Bridge, the falconry offers individuals and families a unique experience to learn about, observe, and interact with birds of prey both in an indoor and outdoor setting.
Overall, our family really enjoyed the experience. It was a highlight of our visit to Prince Edward Island. Having a falcon and/or hawk land on your (protected) hand, or feeling it buzz your head in a show of aerial agility was definitely cool.
The owner, Jamie Stride, obviously loves what he does and the knowledge he shared with us was quite interesting.

The first part of the experience is a briefing on birds of prey (diet, life span, behaviour, care, etc.). Jamie walked us through a bit of the psychology of these apex predators and how the bond with these beautiful animals is based on an understanding and respect of their needs and drives.

The 2nd part of the experience is seeing the birds of prey in action and actually interacting with them in a large open field.
Bring your cameras or smartphones (especially for slow motion videos!)
Strongly recommend the experience to anyone visiting the island.
Our group consisted of a family (2 adults, 2 children) and the overall experience lasted 2 hours.

Went to visit Jamie and his birds of prey from a cruise ship, an absolutely brilliant and memorable time, I did not expect these beautiful birds would be flying to us, but wow, what a feeling !! My biggest compliment would be to say, if I’m ever that way again I would definitely visit again.......thank you Jamie for such a wonderful experience.

Had a great time! Chose this excursion while cruising on Holland America with my Mom & sister. The host was terrific! He was very informative, caring and personable. We each got to hold a falcon! We had an amazing time! I highly recommend it!!

We chose this as an excursion on a recent cruise. My 87 year old mother and I rode the small bus to the home of our host, a gentleman who hunts with falcons, and gives presentations to tour groups, students, and others. Our host was SO knowledgeable! We were a group of 30 people. First we went into an education building, where our host introduced us to a couple of his falcons, and explained about falcons and hawks, the art of hunting with a raptor, and a bit about himself.

Each of us had the opportunity to hold a hooded hawk, and to feel her on our (leather gloved) wrists. Then we went outside to his aviary, and then to a field, where he allowed each of us the experience of having a falcon swoop down from a tree onto our gloved hand. Everyone participated, from the 4 our 5 year old with his daddy, to my 87 year old mother.

It just doesn't get better than this.

My husband and I were very fortunate to spend a few hours with Jamie and his birds of prey. I’ll be honest, I went in super excited. I have been a fan of birds of prey for many years, so this was essentially a dream come true for me. Jamie gave us a really decent education on his, and other, birds. I learned a lot. We were able to have a peregrine falcon, Mr G, sit on our gloved hand. Super cool. We then went outside where we were all able to have Hush, a Harris’ Hawk, fly in from a tree to eat out of our gloved hand. Then Jaimie has his peregrine falcon, George, give us an amazing display of his skills. Before we left, we were able to get a close look at Kenzie, a beautiful American Kestral. If I could, I’d give this ten stars. I wish I lived close enough to do this again and again.

Extremely informative and amazingly interactive experience with the birds of prey, my kids 8&9 (and the adults) had a one of a kind experience. I’ve interacted with “falconers” and their birds in the past, but nothing like this. Jamie is an excellent speaker and educator and truly passionate about falconry. So far the best activity 1 week in to a maritime RV trip.

I did not know what to expect when we came here but it was really wonderful. We had an education session about birds of prey and then a tour of the aviary. Finally the best part was interaction in the field with the birds. We really loved it and it was also educational at the same time. I highly suggest it to anyone. It is by appointment only and you have to be available around the birds feeding time.
