Aonang was a big let-down. The beach itself is long but the sand is not soft and powdery. The water was rough and brown. I have been to some beautiful beaches in Thailand with calm, clear water - this was NOT one of them. It...More
Not a great beach, can be very busy in high season. The southern (Railay) end is better, less boats going in and out and better water. Don't go too far down towards Railay end as there is a putrid outflow at the far end and...More
Nice beach to walk, sunbath and have a drink/food/massage by the sea, and to take photos of course.

We used to love coming here but is now unfortunately over run by loud, rude tourists. These people have brought with them rubbish and now the beach is disgusting. Also alot of tourists using the beach as a toilet! Very sad all round. Wont be...More

I'd recommend you walk to Noppharathara Beach about 5 to 6 km away.

Considering that monsoon has already set in that belt, you should reach and then do the island bookings as often due to heavy rains, island trips are cancelled. In such event, you stand to lose your money on prior bookings. Ao nang itself is a picturesque island and depending on what hotel you have booked, you can plan the rest of the islands through the concerned hotel property. Hope this helps you. All the best
