Aonang was a big let-down. The beach itself is long but the sand is not soft and powdery. The water was rough and brown. I have been to some beautiful beaches in Thailand with calm, clear water - this was NOT one of them. It...More

Not a great beach, can be very busy in high season. The southern (Railay) end is better, less boats going in and out and better water. Don't go too far down towards Railay end as there is a putrid outflow at the far end and...More

Nice beach to walk, sunbath and have a drink/food/massage by the sea, and to take photos of course. Near the rock you can go to near beach by Monkey trail, just 15 min walking stairs, worth going to check out another beautiful beach and limestone...More

Beach made up of had course sand. Water was quite dirty and mostly rough. I didn't mind when the waves were bigger as it allowed me to body surf, but most of the time too choppy.

Beach was too near the main shopping area, so it felt a bit hard to chill out. But some people might like the convenience of stepping nearby to get a quick bite. I'd recommend you walk to Noppharathara Beach about 5 to 6 km away.
