We visited Poda island as part of the 4 island tour yesterday. It’s impossible to swim or snorkel off any of the islands at the moment.

There are stinging jellyfish everywhere! Our whole family was stung numerous times and the boatman tried a few different spots. All had the same problem. Best to avoid these islands until the jellyfish season is over.

We went here a part of a 4 island day tour. It has a gorgeous beach, clean bathrooms and nice little cafe. A great day trip from Ao Nang.

Clean beach, mesmerizing view. When we visited Thailand in November'23 end it rained all 5-6 days. So I couldn't see the sunset but still the view in the rain was good. Fortunately there were no stormy waves on that day of the tour.

Warning be very careful if visiting ko poda on a trip
Lovely island but the food place is very bad
15 of us (9adults and 5 children)
ordered food on 7 different bills (all paid for up front)
The first came out fine
The second order chicken and rice was meant to be non spicy no chilli we asked a few times to make sure and the lady server said yes fine (you pay when you order)
When it arrived it was full of red and green chillies when we took it back the lady went crazy at our 70 year old dad saying that’s what he ordered we said no problem just give us a replacement for the meals (with no chilli or spice)
With this she threw all the food in the bin including our other 5 orders snatching a tray out of our hands then refused to refund us they this was very intimidating they then started to refund us but not all the money we had paid
And was shouting at us
Then a man came in from the back with a stick came in and threatened to hit us with it one of the other servers made him go in kitchen he then came out with a knife and was threatening us with it
We got all our money back but all over a mistake on there behalf
We left as soon as we could it ruined our lovely day around the islands
Please avoid this food place you might not be as lucky
Two of our girls as cried for nearly 2 hrs as they witnessed this and was so scared

I really like clear water which you can see fish with naked eyes. On the beach, reef is a lot. It’s quite hurt.

You can reach easily Poda island from Aonang beach by boat, return ticket is 300 bhat and national park fee is additional 200. You will just have to wait while at least 6 people come for the same ride bit in a season it is very quick, it is 15 minutes ride from Aonang. Better go there earlier in the morning beacause the last return is at 4pm. The same boat will wait for you for the way back. You will be taken at the front beach just for individual trips and probbably won't be busy. The beach at the other side is for islands excursions and is crowded with tours if you come after 12 pm. But you can walk there to buy drinks or ice cream, there is a park as well. You can ask your boat driver to take you at the secret beach for some fee you give him extra. It is beautiful little spot at the edge of Poda island good for snorkling, you will see a lot of fish there.

One of the bigger islands with a distinctive rock jutting out of the water on one side. There is a little cafe like shack selling some hot food and drinks. Worth a visit.
Once again the water is shallow, sloping gently as you go farther out. Water is clear. Worth spending more time here to enjoy the surroundings.
