I was in the area to look over the hospital, its museum, and the church. As I continued over the bridge to Campo Santa Maria Nova I saw an elderly woman dragging a large potted tree outside her little shop to its proper spot in the sun. She was very strong since it was rather large. Then I looked in her windows and spied some interesting glass unlike anything I'd seen in Venice. So I went in and checked out everything. She rents costumes, accommodations, and has antiques etc. She speaks French, is 81, and can tell you anything you want to know about Venice... what's going or not anymore. History. We had a nice long chat about how Venice has changed. Visit her; you'll be charmed and maybe find that special souvenir.
