Took time out of our North Coast 500 trip to join Ian on his creel boat. Absolutely fascinating and it felt like a privilege to see the catch close up and encounter some strange creatures we didn't even know existed. Saw some adore seals basking...More

What a privilege to go out with Ian as he checked his creels! As each creel came out of the water, the catch was passed from hand to hand for examination, and anything not to be kept was returned to the deep. Along the way...More

If you're spending some time in the Gairloch area this is a wonderful experience for all the family. Ian is one of the few creel fishermen left in the area and is a real character with a typically highland dry sense of humour. Lovely guy,...More

A great hour and a half out on the Loch. Prawns, 3 types of crab and multiple huge starfish brought on board, all with an interesting, humorous running commentary from Ian. Very much recommended!

Thoroughly enjoyed this trip. Ian is a great guide, telling you some interesting historical facts about the area whilst hauling all manner of wonderful sea creatures from the water. Got to hold an octopus, lobster eggs, live languistines and a massive star fish. Nice little...More

I literally went along for the ride. I am not a fish / shellfish fan but had such a great time on the boat trip. We caught crab, fish and star fish. The kids loved it, the whole experience start to finish was such an...More

Ian is an experienced fisherman who couples knowledge of the wildlife with snippets of local history. Fascinating to hear about the shellfish business. Children loved fishing for mackerel and also seeing what was in the creels as they came in, getting up close to a...More
