We’d hired the boat as a private tour for several families (capacity is 29) and so we got more time and spent lots of time exploring the lobster pots and handling the crabs and lobsters. Entertained the kids who were largely 10-14 years old. It’s...More

The small boat took us down river and around Havergate island. The boatman gave an entertaining and interesting commentary he also provided bird books for the less informed passengers. His commentary was on local and natural history, wildlife flora and fauna together with tales of...More

Good views of Havergate Island and interesting historical documentary from the Captain. Good value for money at a tenner per person. Nice change to see Orford from the river.

A great hour on the water. The friendly, helpful skipper explains the unexpected secret history of the area and points out the amazing wildlife. And all for a very reasonable price.

Lovely trip. The food was very good. It was nice sharing the lunch table with others on the trip. Staffordshire eere very good and helpful. It is a very nice thing to do on a summers afternoon.

This small boat gets you close to the muddy river banks around Orford. You get good views of the mud, and some of the few sights around. But you must love it for what it is, or want to watch birds: don't come expecting thrills,...More

A good trip organised by the RSPB on the regardless, around Havergate Island (about an hour) with a longer 90min stop to visit two of the hides. It was wet and cold and there’s no cover on the boat, so a good warm waterproof jacket...More

We booked by telephone with RSPB at Minsmere £12 per adult. A 15 minute boat trip in relatively sheltered waters on a sunny August day got us to Havergate Island. Here the boat driver offered binoculars to anyone needing them, and chatted with us until...More

A first for our grandson: a boat trip. So we wanted it to be fun, and it was. Exciting but not scary, and lots of birds to see (lots of avocets, marsh harrier, godwits, dunlin, cormorant, gulls). An hour was just about right. Dogs allowed...More

Exactly. I posted this as Orford but it came up in one place as Oxford. This is slack practice on the part of Tripadvisor and not worthy of its otherwise high standards. Does no one check?
