My wife and I were very fortunate to have a super guided tour in English with Simone (sp?). Our tour with just the three of us was not rushed and Simone's enthusiasm about the history of the caves was contagious.

Typical place to visit when the weather is not so good, and you cannot go to the beach; but be careful! In these days is crowded, it's better to call and book for the visit. It takes 45min, with a guide who will explain you everything about these caves.

We understand enough Italian to do the tour in that language. it was super interesting. If you don't speak Italian, wait for the English language tour or you won't get much out of it. We enjoyed seeing these underground tunnels and hearing the various uses of it over the centuries.
