Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We pay 224€ for a night waiting for 4-star hotel services and spa tranquility. The hotel only has a free buffet in self-service that you could access in turns, crowded with noisy people and waiters adding more noise when picking up dishes and cutlery without any care. Outside the hotel there is an Italian restaurant (the only one in the complex) where we wait 20 minutes waiting for a receptionist who did not come. Not all the tables were occupied, but there were only two waitresses who couldn't get enough. The regrettable bar with little choice of drinks or snacks. In the room paper cups, not glass and a single armchair for 2 people. The price did not include any spa service that if you wanted you had to book and pay part. Breakfast service to the room or think about it. Crowded with customers and very few staff. We felt treated as if we were part of a cheap tour coach and not as customers of a supposedly 4-star hotel paying €224 for a night's sleep. We made this same comment in the satisfaction questionnaire that the hotel sent us and so far we have not received any reaction.

We reserved 90 minutes (from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.) and at 9:10 p.m. they paid for everything and kicked us out. Cold water. The soap dispensers in the showers were empty. All the dryers were broken.
Very bad experience.

Spa located high up the mountain with spectacular views of the neighboring peaks, waterfalls and meltwater, all beautiful. Apart from the spa and baths area, there is the Intercontinental hotel, the only thing open at this time of year. Many people from Inserso were there, we went to eat at the hotel buffet, and for 23 euros we were able to make the menu. Normal meal, with salad, noodle stew and stewed lamb. A very kind service because they brought us a gluten-free mousse for my husband, which was not on the buffet, but the chef brought it expressly. Thank you very much to all the nice staff!!! This type of details are greatly appreciated, so I told the kind waitress!!!

It is the third time we come to the Spa, (and last) the first time in 2018 it seemed spectacular, in 2023 quite a disaster but we thought it would be because of COVID... but no

The facilities are not maintained, there are leaks everywhere, broken glass.
They have accommodated us in the same room in 2023 and the same stains remain on the ceiling and walls.
The floor full of hair, room, bathroom... everything. The towels with dried blood stains, disgusting, we have thrown them away to wash but they are still there anyway.

At dinner the children are rubbing all the food and no one says anything...
Not to mention that dinner now consists of fried foods and pasta, nothing a bit elaborate.

It is no longer talking about stars, it is maintaining the minimum hygiene necessary for a hotel.

Absolutely disappointed. The Tiberian Baths have an absolute lack of maintenance: broken tiles, cracked ceilings, faltering railings, and electrical installations near swimming pool water with “do not touch” signs. The feeling it gave me is that no one has done maintenance in several years. The facilities of the Gran Hotel are typical of an Inn and not a hotel that boasts 4 stars. The day we were there neither the restaurant nor the cafeteria worked. The setting of the spa is beautiful, but that's it.

I was quite afraid, because of the information I received here. And in fact it fits quite well with what I read. We were in a room that they call superior. The room was good but with many negative details, a chip, a lamp that falls, door of the bathroom that does not close, ditto the shower screen, and above all a temperature of 24 degrees in the room that we could not regulate. All this in a 4 STAR hotel. In short, OLD and with a lack of maintenance and very expensive for what it offers

We came to spend two days. Overall, a very bad experience. The hotel lacks maintenance, shabby paint, regular cleaning, the room leaves much to be desired, because they have not provided gel or shampoo. Meals in the hotel restaurant, lousy. No terrace service is available. We're certainly not coming back.

The place is splendid, between mountains, also snowy in winter. A dream. But the reality is that it seems that since it was inaugurated it has not been renovated. Jets that don't work, overbooking of people from one place to another, you don't get the feeling of relaxing at any time.
The changing rooms are terrible, old and without services, if you are lucky the hairdryer will work. But half are melted.
If you are not staying at the hotel, make sure you bring a bathrobe because if you come alone to the Spa they will give you a single towel that you will have to use in the spa, shower, hair...
A shame for a spa since if they invested a little in improving it they could offer a spectacular experience

It has 2 stars to spare, this hotel urgently needs a renovation and change of furniture, it would be best if they closed it and renovated it so we would all save ourselves the unpleasant experience
The hotel staff is very friendly, but the restaurant staff is not, but the rest is nowhere to be found.
Rotten armchairs in the halls, broken doors, shameful cinema room, four poorly placed chairs, minimal interest in making a pleasant stay
The spa is nothing out of this world, there is nothing around the hotel
The miserable breakfast, disgusting ham and slices of cheese of equal quality, there is nothing, I asked for a yogurt and they told me that they haven't had it for a week, it's unfortunate that they don't even have bread to choose from, I think it's everyone's breakfast the places I have visited
I will never return to this hotel again, I do not recommend it

Friendly staff, I went with my dog and very attentive and affectionate with her, now is “pet friendly” to put it somehow because a supplement of 30 euros per pet is invite you not to bring her.
Dinner buffet 20 euros per person and buffet has nothing is a menu with little variety.
If you go better bring a taper from home.
Otherwise, the setting, the wonderful views!!
