Lavaudieu is a charming medieval village. Only local residents are permitted to drive in the village but there is a car park on its edge. It is beautiful and a photographer's paradise! The guided combined tour of the ruined monastery and museum is very worthwhile....More

Such a lovely small town - and the abbey was really interesting. Fabulous frescoes on the vaulted ceilings. Also delightfully cool on a hot day.

This review is for the Village of Lavaudieu. Notice the Office du tourisme is closed on Tuesday. Go to the dictionary, find the definition of 'picturesque', Make sure your digital camera is empty with a full battery and then take your 1000 pictures of this...More
