I do not understand why neither the Rajasthan government nor the haveli owners are paying attention to these fresco - painted havelis. The frescoes are lifelike & still well - preserved. A few of the havelis are still nice but most of them are crumbling....More
Found the havelies fascinating. From the outside just ordinary buildings, maybe in some cases some frescos but once inside they open out to present a picture of life many years ago. A hidden courtyard or two unseen from the road often with beautiful frescos one...More
