This is a 10-15 walk from the nearby Blackgang viewpoint car park, albeit pretty steep in places so not for the infirm, grossly unfit or with very young children. On a good day it's really worth it though as the views are simply stunning as...More

Wonderful old building near Blackgang - but nowhere near where Trip Advisor lists it as being, in Rookley! Expect a steep climb up from the road nearby, and optionally continue along the ridge to the nearby Hoy Monument. Boots advised!

A brisk climb up the hill across several fields brings you to the Pepperpot. A medieval lighthouse disguised as a little stone space rocket. On foggy days, magical in itself, however on clear days, great views out to the Needles and out to sea.

Ignore Blackgang Chine and use the carpark just above it at the nearby viewpoint. Then cross the road and walk across lovely grassland to the climb up to this stunning hilltop site. All that remains of the Oratory is a tower but the climb up...More

This is an unexpected find. Steep walk but stunning views at the top. There are cattle roaming in the field. At the bottom there is a car park with a refreshment van.

I really loved this spot. Amazing to see this old structure and the rolling hills covered with farms and the white cliffs and the needles in the distance. The walk was too much for the elderly member of our group, so that might be something...More

Free car park, a short and not difficult walk to stunning views (you can see The Needles on a clear day) and a little bit of history too.
