Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Together with Dover, this VTS traffic center serves one of the most important Cape’s in the world. The Dover Strait. The Channel. High traffic zone for the Ports of Northern Europe. Strong winds always available because this Cape is on the South Western areas. Where most of the winds coming from in this part of Europe.

Unfortunately, the afternoon I visited was quite on thr rainy side, so visibility was reduced. There are plenty of interesting panels talking about the history of the point.

I'm not certain I was able to see the English coast in the distance, but I think I may have seen it shrouded by a layer of grey!

I rated 4 because I visited it the same day of Cap Blanc-Nez, rated 5. The view from Cap Gris is fantastic too, England is near, but everything is less spectacular than the other Cap

Just off the coast road, the site has its own ample easy (and free) parking. There are a choice of circular walks along the cliff top to various Channel viewpoints, each well signposted with walk distances shown. And the view across the busy Channel shipping lanes to the "white cliffs" of the distant English coastline is definitely worth it!

It's a nice viewpoint, high on the cliffs, the coast of England is clearly visible in the distance...easy to reach from the big parking area nearby (and it's free of charge too!)...hold on to your hat though, this is a very windy place!

We had a great waking tour around Cap Gris Nez and we enjoyed beautiful landscapes and scenery. We saw some seals and a lot of beautiful birds. The kids really enjoyed it

The closest point in France to England. A pleasant walk from a car park to the lighthouse and the coast which overlooks the White Cliffs if Dover and - less easy to see - Dungeness. Fantastic views on a clear day. Pity it's not possible to walk along the cliff edge very far. Can see Cap Blanc Nez from here too.

Cap Gris Nez is a very worthwhile detour from the route to Calais. Very fine views across the channel and up and down the coast, with several viewing platforms. Plentiful interesting displays illustrating the history of the various sites and defences from the time of Henry VIII until WW2.

This site has a viewing platform to view the White cliffs of Dover from the nearest point in France, it has a lot of German fortifications along with a Henry 8th fort and amazing views of Cap Blanc Nez and ample free car parking and marked paths. Ideal spot for a picnic.
