The park once was a lagoon that was a source of mud for adobe homes. The area was drained in 1878 and opened as a public park in 1890, named after Francisco Morazán, the first and last president of the United States of Central America....More

My wife and I came upon this park just after dark one evening when we first came to San Jose. Police were frisking several suspected miscreants and we spotted a 'campesino' smoking what I'm sure was crack on a stairwell nearby. Outta there...but in the...More

This is a nice park with a gazebo you can stop at if you are just north of the historic downtown San Jose area. There are quite a few locals here but very few tourists.
