The germans were trapped in a bottle at falaise and the poles of the 1st armoured division were the cork. Here are 658 graves of poles who gave their lives in the normandy campaign. The 1st armoures husaria emblema surround the cemetary.

I have always been interested in Polish forces in WW2 and was happy to visit this cemetery. It is was maintained and has its own character which is different then the other cemeteries.

This cemetery is very different than the others I visited in Europe. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. It is worth a stop to see how another country honors its dead.
