A complete pleasure roaming the trails and the pond with the turtles is so lovely and full of a cool turtle mood I could have lingered for hours. This is often a very thoughtfully designed place and a highly learned view of this bio-realm.

This was my third time to the preserve. I love it. They do a great job labeling plants, categorizing them based on their use and/or habitats, and create a beautiful spot in the process. Highly recommended for those interested in the local natural history.

The park is very well maintained and offers a nice walk in the jungle. Turtles can be seen and different types of plants. It is not soo exciting as described in the other reviews, but worth a visit if you have some time left.

We decided to visit the plant preserve on one of the first days of our trip and we all loved it. You meander through well defined trails and learn about vegetation in the Bahamas. My children loved the area with turtles, but my favorite part...More

Very informative and interesting to learn about the native plants, birds and butterflies on Eleuthrea Island. The woman who greeted us was very helpful and thorough explaining the tour and answering our questions.

You'll be glad you did this trip! Allow a minimum of two hours or more. We love and enjoy nature like most however this was really cool. Plants, trees, insects, history, culture.......top 5 of our favorite things on the island!

We are planning to visit the Leon Levy Preserve in late February but are now concerned about the Zika virus transmitted by mosquitoes. Would appreciate hearing about the mosquito situation at the preserve.

The Preserve is a natural area and does not do any spraying or general mosquito control. At the current time the Zika virus has not been reported from the Bahamas so any location you visit should be considered safe... More

Hi Carol, There is no public transportation on the island. To get here on your own, you would have to take a taxi. This would be very expensive as the trip is about 2 hours round trip. If you are traveling with Princess Cays... More
