Guests can learn how they can make their own chocolates under the tutelage of the master chocolatier or simply indulge in the gourmet chocolate treats. Adult Chocolate Interactive Tours and also fun games for children are available on a daily basis by appointment. Gourmet chocolates and truffles are available for purchase at the boutique. This facility is cashless. Payment accepted by credit card only.

We stopped in as part of a tour on a cruise. We did not do the tour or the class; it was just a quick stop. I thought the chocolate was overpriced for what you got and the workers were not super friendly. We bough one small chocolate bar and two truffles and the bill was almost $15. I would have liked to do the tour, but there wasn't time. If you do not plan to take the tour or take a class, this is a skippable place unless you really love chocolate and don't mind paying a hefty price

Couple things I want to note for other people - 1. they do not accept American cash - every other place I have ever been in the Caribbean does, so that was a surprise. I was not able to buy anything because I don't carry my credit card off the cruise ship. 2. Toddlers are not allowed on the paid tour so I was not permitted to book in advance, but I was told there was a short walk through style tour we could do day of. When I got there in the morning, I was told those were all full for the entire day. For me, this was a waste of a walk. Hopefully it goes better for others.

We're sorry to hear that you visited us but were unable to do a tour, we do offer all of our tours for presale online and encourage guests to prebook to avoid exactly what happened to you.
As you saw on the signage our facilities are CASHLESS therefore no cash is accepted (US or otherwise).

We did the factory tour and came back a few days later to do the chocolate making class. The tour was brief but went over the chocolate making process and took us into the factory where you got to see the stages of chocolate making and taste the white, milk, and dark chocolate from the machines. You also got to taste the raw beans (not great). When we returned for our class, our guide remembered us from the previous day. We each got to make 1 candy bar, 1 dipped marshmallow, and then cold use the extra chocolate any way we wanted (make cups and/or just eat with a spoon as my teens preferred to do). They provided a few toppings for the chocolate bar like sprinkles, coconut, and and broken up oreos. The kids loved the experience and chocolate was good. They even wrapped up the creations in beautiful take home boxes. Recommend if visiting with any aged child or chocolate lover.

Graycliff was a delightful excursion to our vacation. Deborah explained the historical process of making chocolate and the current way of making chocolate. She was accommodating to everyone in our tour party and gave us free reign with our table art. I brought my daughter and she enjoyed the creative process as well. It’s not very often when an adult can feel like a child and have it encouraged. Loved the information, history, and creativeness of this tour. The delicious bonus of taking your creations with you is always welcome. Plus the store on site has some truly beautiful nibbles for purchase also.

Visited Graycliff Chocolatier while in Nassau on a cruise. Yes, I am a confirmed chocoholic, so am super picky about the taste and quality of chocolate.
The shop is not huge, but they have a nice but limited assortment of items. They do give you a sample too.
I brought home a dark chocolate bar, and was amazed at the complexity of the flavors. I also brought home some chocolate "sand-dollars" as gifts.
The prices are kind of high here, but I guess you pay for the good quality.
Interesting that when using a credit card they ask for an ID. Not sure what that is all about.

We went to Graycliff Chocolatiers as part of our tour of Nassau. We went in, had to put on hair nets, and were brought into their factory. We learned about the process of how the chocolate was made from bean to finished product. We also were able to try the dark and milk chocolate from their machines. I’m usually a milk chocolate girl but the dark chocolate was really good! At the end we were allowed 1 sample from the show case and were offered a 10% discount as part of the tour.

We went to this site through the Disney Cruise excursion- very disappointed! Arrived at our destination- told to put on gowns and hats and herded into a very small "chocolate melting" room - explained a little about their process and herded into another room where we poured chocolate into a mold added a few flakes of coconut, dipped a piece of marshmallow and pineapple, and one piece of chocolate to make a truffle- put them in a box and herded again to the retail store where we could purchase their chocolates for a small discount. They were very unorganized and not very informative, rushed through the whole experience! Would not recommend this excursion to anyone!

Adjoining the wonderful Graycliff hotel, and set in a 300 year old building, the small 2-year old facility is the only chocolate manufacturer in the islands, and uses cacao beans from the West Indies. There are two tours available (although staff do not make this clear): a walkthrough and a much more expensive (nearly 4x the cost) “make your own chocolate” tour. These both start at the gift shop where there is a super range of chocolate available. We did the walkthrough tour and also were able to select one of the hand made chocolates to taste. I would recommend the beautiful hand-painted caramel sea-salt milk chocolate without hesitation. The chocolate itself is very smooth and worth the price, considering it is a premium product. The tour guide was very friendly and explained the chocolate making process, but the facility is very small and quite cramped. In fact it is interesting to see just how little space is needed to manufacture the product commercially. As we were walking back to downtown Nassau (about 10 minutes) I did notice opposite the hotel the beginnings of a retail store for the factory so maybe this will up and running soon too.

I was curious on other reviews if the demonstration used REAL chocolate. We had to use WHITE chocolate it is not chocolate but cocoa butter and sugar. The demonstration was good but thought that REAL chocolate should have been used for the price charged

I will tell you how to spend a relaxing day in Nassau. First, walk the short distance to Graycliff from Bay Street. Very easy, simple few blocks up the bill. Once there, first check out the chocolate shop. You can order a fancy coffee and look at all the chocolates while waiting for your coffee. Select some of the edible pieces of art; my favorite is the brandied cherry and dark chocolate. It was fine.
If you are lucky, they will give you a sample.
Once you have the exquisite chocolate and coffee in hand, walk through to the cigar factory. Take note of the outside, covered lounge on your right just prior to the cigar factory entrance. There is another lounge to your left, higher up, if the first is in use.
Ask for a tour of the cigar making once inside. They are very friendly and accommodating. You can even video tape the Cubans making Cuban cigars. It is fascinating. Ask to see the aging room.
Okay, so now you select your cigars. I admit, they are pricey. But I assure you, they are well worth the price. If you are unsure which to select, they will help you figure it out. Be sure to buy at least two, one to have right away and another for a day or two later--you'll be sorry if you don't get at least a second one.
They will cut your cigar for you, and provide matches if you ask.
Now take your cigar, matches, coffee, and chocolate outside to the lounge. Kick back with it all and relax Bahamian style. Just really relax and enjoy the calm ambience of the place. When the coffee is gone, go to the bar and get some Sands or Kaliks.
When you are ready to continue, use the very clean bathroom at the top of the stairs before you leave. Exit Greycliff and walk down the hill to Bay Street. Find your way to Conch Fritters and have lunch. Good food at okay prices, and the portions are fair for the price. Great for vegetarians--get Mac and cheese; cole slaw; peas and rice; potato salad.
Next stop, Pirates of Nassau Museum. After that, go through the Straw Market. Then check out a few liquor stores so you sample some rums.
I think this makes for a great fun day.
