About
Cable Beach is a Caribbean haven; expect sensational ocean views, glimmering waters, and postcard-worthy landscapes. You can spend hours here stretched out sunbathing, or try water activities like jet-skiing, parasailing, and banana boat rides. After sundown, pop by the beachside bars to sample some of Nassau’s local craft beer. Stretching for miles, the beach is lined with some of the best resorts, restaurants and bars in town, making it a favorite with both travelers and locals. Cable Beach is amazing throughout the year but the dry winter season is especially popular for the cooler weather and easterly winds. – Tripadvisor

Don’t miss this ideal beach day
We are so glad we didn’t believe the negative reviews of this beach. We took a cab from the port for about $10/pp and got there in about 20 min. We were approached by some locals to get chairs and umbrellas. We rented two chairs and an umbrella for $40 for the entire day. My husband found a drink stand where he got three drinks in a cantelope for $30. The beach is clean and beautiful. The water is SO warm and clear. We saw some fish and overall had a very relaxing beach day. We loved the whole island and highly recommend getting off the ship to explore!

Cruise stop, go and find a decent beach!
Excellent few hours at the Cable Beach!l We picked up a taxi from the main high street (Jewellery area) Our Campbell our taxi driver was friendly and informative. He took 5 of us to Cable Beach from $35. On entering the beach we were approached for lounger hire. We got 2 beds and 1 umbrella for $30 The beach and sea were clean. This part of the beach was not crowded, we were near Breezes Hotel. Our taxi driver picked us up at 3 o’clock to get back to the cruise ship. We really enjoyed our day in Nassua

Beautiful beach not far from downtown Nassau
We took No. 10 bus from the bus stop across the street from Margaritaville. It cost us $1.25 each and dropped us off at the bus stop by the Sandals Hotel. From there, it was a 1-minute walk down to the beach. The beach is small but is really, really beautiful. White and clean sand. We didn’t see any fish snorkelling, but some people said they saw 3 stingrays earlier in the day. There’s no washroom facilities. Beach chairs, umbrellas, life jackets are available for rent.

A Serene Escape: My Visit to Cable Beach, Nassau
Visiting Cable Beach in Nassau was enchanting! The pristine, sandy shores felt like a hidden paradise. The crystal-clear turquoise waters were beautifully inviting. Swimming and lounging by the shore were serene and relaxing, while the gentle waves added to the majestic atmosphere. Exploring the beach and its surroundings was fascinating, with various water activities and local vendors adding to the vibrant experience. The beachside amenities were equally captivating, with well-maintained facilities and friendly staff. The nearby resorts and restaurants offered delightful local cuisine, enhancing the overall experience. Overall, my visit was refreshing and inspiring. It's a perfect escape for beach lovers and families. I can't wait to return!

Cable beach is pretty and if you set up East of the Breezes hotel you will feel a more chill vibe. When you arrive you will be bombarded with Umbrella and chair vendors as well as jet ski rentals and such. But after that they left us completely alone. We did get an umbrella because you need one in the summer for sure but outside of that the pressure was low and we just chilled.

Also the guy at the food stand making wings and fries is a good value and the fries were excellent.

A few of us snorkeled around and saw almost nothing. I think with all the activity of boats and such that the fish are elsewhere.

But we did walk down in front of the Baha Mar and the snorkeling is better over there. People kept saying there were turtles out there but we didn't see them and we covered the whole area.

All in all we really enjoyed ourselves.

A word of warning as well. You will find guys that want to charge you to take you out to an island to see dolphins, turtles and fish. We got the skinny from a local and we chose not to go because the dolphins are literally in a cage and same with the turtles and you do get to snorkel but only with the fish. So if you disagree with captivity like we do you may want to bypass this activity as well.

So, no ones fault, but the weather turned bad. It was cold, rainy and very windy. Which was unfortunate because for 5 chairs and 2 umbrellas we shelled out 115 bucks. I feel like it is fair to ask for money to rent chairs but as our day did not go as planned it was a lot of money to sit there for 1 hour. So maybe bring a nice big towel to sit on. We did see sea turtles!!! Which is wonderful!! So for the view, the beautiful sea turtles and the water I recommend this beach. I will say taxis are not cheap. 5 bucks a person, and yes you can get a bus for 1.25 but we had a very long wait for the bus on the way back from town and when the bus did come it was full. I found it hard to find this info when we were planning the cruise so I wanted to share for whoever out their is planning their cruise.

My mom & I went on a trip & stayed at the Breezes Resort in Nassau. We happened to meet Captain Keith on Cable Beach. You can find him wearing his turban, walking around advertising his glass water boat excursions and other fun water activities. My mom and I signed up for the glass water boat, snorkeling at the reef and with sea turtles. It definitely did not disappoint! 1.5 hour tour- We swam so close to a sea turtle for about 20 minutes, it was beautiful! We Also snorkeled at a Reef that had so many colorful fish. If you meet Captain Keith or his friends on the beach, I definitely recommend to sign up for something fun. We also signed up for parasailing through them, it went perfectly. Beautiful, very friendly. Would 10 out of 10 recommend both. Thanks Captain Keith & Friends!

Absolutely amazing, peaceful, beautiful. We spent about 3 hours here and then hung out at a local bar. Talked to the owner who told us to visit FISH FRY... be prepared to be pulled in every direction from every person o the street.

Most of the beach’s around Nassau are excellent. I enjoyed Cable beach as there were less people around. You can enjoy the water and the sand. The only down side are jet ski riders coming close to shore pushing people to ride it at a price. Once they move on you can then enjoy the water. There are no fish for snorkelling but water and sand is excellent.

There are very few public access points for Cable Beach. There is one to the east of Menchies, which didn’t even have any beach when we visited and one to the west of Sandals.

When you walk down the road east of Sandals, the locals will tell you the beach to the left is public and to the right is private. The public beach is very small. When you walk west, you are stopped by retaining walls in front of buildings. When you walk to the east there is a large pier in front of Sandals with a security guard who asks you to leave if you aren’t a guest of Sandals.

My heart goes out to the people who live on New Providence Island who can’t visit their beaches very easily.

We booked our Airbnb on Cable Beach thinking we’d be able to walk for a mile up and down the beach. We were so saddened to see that most of the sand was taken during the last tropical storm (Nicole) in November. Locals say the sand always comes back, but I believe that will take some time. Beautiful water, but miss the sand. You can however find beautiful sand in front of the BahaMar Resort and Breezes which is next to Goodman’s Bay- but watch your personal items while at Goodmans…

Cable Beach is conveniently located next door to Sandals Resort. For our visit, they had a loud and obnoxious D.J. trying to get a crowd of 5 to dance and get active.
It's also crowded with jet ski's, small sail boats and charter boats taking Sandals guests to an island. So, if you're looking for a relaxing beach were you can lay on the beach, read a book or listen to your music - I think the odds are against you. If you want to play in the water and swim or snorkel - you'll have to be very careful for the other watercraft. The jet ski was 15-20ft (at most) from me while I was swimming. The water itself seemed on the cloudy side, but still "blue". There are other beaches that are much nicer.

An absolutely STUNNING beach which can seem a bit intense at first, because it’s packed with people and you’re inundated with people offering rental chairs coconut beverages and more.
If you’re looking for something a bit more private, turn to the right and take a walk to the nearly secluded end of the beach. Some locals will tell you it’s “private” but as long as you bring your own towels and don’t mind not having a chair, walk along down the relatively secluded side of the beach, spread out your town and ahhhhhhhhhh.... relax and enjoy.
