The Educulture Junkanoo Museum is at 31 West Street, which is about 5 minutes from the Straw Market and is well worth a visit. I read about this expo on TripAdviser and emailed to confirm the location and hours. The museum director responded and gave detailed directions to the museum. The same director, Arlene Ferguson, gave us a tour of... More

Arlene Nash Ferguson is a wonderful hostess at the Educulture Junkanoo Museum at 31 West Street, the house that Arlene grew up in. If on foot, you climb up to the hilltop to find the museum. We had emailed Arlene to make sure she'd be open and we were the only two on the tour. She told us so many... More

What a wonderful museum! We were able to tour the repurposed home by Mrs. Arlene Nash Ferguson herself. She and her family run the "Educulture Mini Junkanoo Museum" she and her family have a long history of maintaining and keeping the Junkanoo traditions alive. The exhibits go from room to room and the history is very interesting, including all the... More

Following some reviews here on Trip Advisor and other indirect website notations, we were able to find this GEM of a museum. Royal Caribbean does not sponsor an excursion here, and that is a shame (I believe right now only Norwegian and Disney do!). The tradition of Junkanoo dates back to the slave era, where they were given 3 days... More

Junkanoo is so much fun! If you like Toronto's Caribana and other types of west indian/caribbean carnivals, you'll love Junaknoo! They're elaborate floats, costumes and live bands are something to be seen! It only happens twice a year so make sure you check it out!

I visited this museum as part of a shore excursion when I went on the Norwegian Sun. I had my doubts at first but this museum is a hidden treasure! The people who run this place are awesome, very friendly, down to earth and knowledgeable about the island and its history. This place has tons of floats from Junkanoo and... More

This museum is located at Ivern House, 31 West St. at Delancey St.in the heart of Nassau’s Historic Hilltop, do not get confused with the exhibition at the wharf! My sister lives in Nassau and she took me to visit this amazing little museum. It was filled with lots of colourful Junkanoo costumes. The young girl working there was a... More
