Nice view of the water and cruise ships but it seems to be always congested. We pulled up next to a truck converted to carry passengers. It was playing island music. The passengers were trying to tell the driver to turn down the volume. Since my window and the drivers window were open I said party poopers. Driver thought that... More

I recently walked this route from the cruise terminal into main street in about 15 minutes at a fast pace. You get good picture opportunities if you wish to take pictures of your ship. This is the route that the cruise ship vans take to get you into town for $4:00.

Once you find parking, cross Waterfront Highway (Hwy 30) to the bay side of the highway. You'll be able to take great pics of the bay and Amelia. Great pic opportunity when cruise ships are docked

Absolutlely gorgeous! Watching boats and cruise ships pass by at night was particularly spectacular. There is a different scene with the passing clouds and light during the day, its really something to take time to watch.

We walked into town from the Havensight Cruise Ship Port and it took around 2o minutes. It was nice but nothing special. There was not a lot to see aside from shops for the first 5 minutes. Only once you get close to the water do you have some nice views of the bay and Charlotte Amalie. We wanted to... More

Waterfront Highway is just that - the road that runs along the waterfront past the town (city?) of Charlotte Amalie in St Thomas. For some (visitors, mostly), it may seem unique - even fun - driving on the left on a four lane highway, past shops and storefronts built hundreds of years ago, with the harbour sparkling on the other... I see people commenting about the traffic. Not sure what they were expecting. This is the main road and when cruise ships are in port, it's busy. Even though there is traffics, it is more like rush hour in a midsize town. Nothing like New York, Boston, or Atlanta. Very good shopping. Green House is a good place to eat.... More

Upon leaving the airport we followed the Waterfront Highway. We did not know where we were going but followed the follow of traffic. if you are not familiar with driving on the left side of the road following the flow of traffic becomes your number 1 job as driver. I told my wife driving in St Thomas is easy. You... More

Driving on the left... just not right... we rented a car and had to turn it in or die..... And, please be aware of the $500 stripped from your card for any rental.

A really neat area that served as warehouses 100 years ago...now shops and dining ...small courtyards...narrow walkways...on the waterfront highway
